Goa Gil in Bombay

No warm-up DJ's, no closing acts - just Gil all the way through.

I got some Goa Gil in my music collection, and I must say he is some piece of work ;-). Too bad there was no radio streams or further info, cause I would've liked to record it. By the way, how good was that party?

The show was pretty decent. The club did get shut down by 1.30am 'coz of the fucking cops, but he was playing from about 9.30 onwards. I got there at 10pm, so I still got to see 3 1/2 straight hours of Gil. There was also a video montage/documentary of his earlier years in Goa (with all the raves and parties and flea markets and stuff) being projected onto a large screen while he was playing, which was kinda cool. The music was good, but he didn't really do any mixing though. He was just playing his CD's and DAT's, and blending them in one after the other. Track selction was good, but he was spending more time dancing and smokin' a fatty rather than DJ-ing. All in all it was a cool show though.

Just GOT today this album by Goa Gil called Kosmokrator Vol. 1, and I'd have to say ... IT IS AWESOME! ... has tons of great tracks by some big names in goa, esp. the first one, Mystical Experience by Infinity Project
