Ok boys, here's what I remember... about 23-24 tunes played... for 2 hours and 45 minutes about... someone help me :-)

Duncan Sheik - On a High (G&D Dub Mix)
Solid Globe - North Pole
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (G&D Mix)
Tisto - Traffic
Skin - Faithfulness (Tisto Remix)
Veracocha - Carte Blanche (??? Remix with breakbeat)
DJ Ton TB - Electronic Malfunction
Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tisto Mix ?)
Ricky Fobis - No Regular
Igor S - Boomerang
DJ Tisto - Lethal Industry
William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings (Tisto New Remix)
Rank1 - Airwave Breathin' (Breaks Dub)
...
and an huge shitload of unknown tunes to me, including I think the new oakie, some anjunabeats stuff, some speedy J stuff, a new Igor S remix, and... if someone can find me the two first tunes :-)

Worm Popper

I think he played :

solar stone vs Scott Bond - 3rd earth (Marco V rmx)

in the beginning maybe the 3rd or 4th track...

also :

Darren tate & gant - let the light shine in ( ???!!! rmx )

But I absolutely don't know what he played the first 2 tracks

he was a bit confused in the beginning with some technical problems....

Thumbs up

Can't help you guys-all that I recognized you've listed already.

Anyway, great set, first I was afraid the technical problems will kill the momentum (DJ Koris did quite a good job as warm up), but after the guys helped him things went fine.

It was my first time at the Mad-but certainly not the last... I just wonder how they finance a superstar like Tisto in a small club like that.

Posted by ko-lera on Aug-23-2003 19:22:

I think a party like this one means DEFICIT for the MAD, they loose money for sure, .....

but what they win is that people talk about the club, (like now ) The standing of the club grow a bit with this.

It also make some people discover the club...

exemple:

Swiss people to swiss people :

"Do you know Tiesto?" --> "Yes, He played in MAD some month ago is that right? " "yeah that's right"
"oh I never went to the MAD, I should try one time if they have such DJ!!"

your re alright! but trust me mad dont lose money i m sure!

and the problem at the beginning are just tiesto had not sound in his headset!

I'm not sure the MAD will make money on this particular event. But that's no problem, other than the explanations given by ko-lera, the fact is that it will be easier (when you got Tiesto once) to book other big names now. And that's all benefit for us trance lovers in french part of Switzerland because the scene is currently in need of much much better trance than the one currently played around here (mainly hardstyle).

As for the set it was absolutely awesome, Tiesto is definitely a "live" dj, he's not my #1 dj but when I hear him live he is one of the best. And his set at MAD was even better than the one he played at OXA some months ago. A pure trance set. A beauty.

You must be kidding! Anyway, he sure was worth the money.

I'm sure that I've heard over 50 live-sets from Tisto. But this set in MAD was definitely one of the best I've heard from him.

My friends and me was the first time in Lausanne, and we decided to go again! If possible already the next weekend

What a club, what women... yeah it's another world than Zurich

Hardstyle night next week Ben, beware...

The night was a success also because the support djs (Koris & Laydee Jane) both played great sets.

damn, sounds like the MAD club is really cool :=)
maybe I should really dare to move to Lausanne, maybe do a Phd at EPFL
Oxa, THE trance club in Zrich, is filled by more drug-addicts than trance-addicts IMHO
but, one cannot moan about the Dj's! Dave202 seems to have some nice relations.
And in 12 days, OMFG, see my sig.

Please guys... if you want to do Ph D. in Lausanne, then it's a good reason. We're working our ass to make the MAD better (trance wise), but please notice it's not everyday the fiesta like this :-)

If you like house music, then you better move. Best house clubs in Switzerland. No doubt about it !

hehe ok,
I hope Chris19, you and the others succeed in the battle vs. the hardstyle

maybe you could try to book some artists that played at the online Transcend (Names/Tracklists: http://www.tidy-tunes.net/transcend.htm )
especially John O'Bir, what a talent (and he already played @ Motion 03, so some swiss TA's should know him !)

And maybe MAD could sign Armin before OXA ?!
I wouldn't miss AvB @ MAD for sure :PPP

good luck

try to keep it to finishing the tracklist.

Posted by romain_2k2c on Aug-24-2003 23:25:

To torontotrance: for once, Swiss people have an interesting discussion about a really good event in Switzerland, please, please...

Madjer: I think it's good for the MAD if OXA book AvB first. Creates hype, and all the good stuff for us. But a rumor says there could be Armin in 2004... (first quarter). Booking other 'non-commercial' artists such as Jon O'Bir (no offense, Jon, but we need a hit here !) is really difficult. Even John '00' Flemming or AvB is a challenge for us...

It took us months (if not half a year) to convince the promoter, help to organize and to get this result. Credits go to all the people involved in this, and believe me, it's all about team-work :-).

Thanks for your words Madjer - we need your support as every single music fan needs to help the promoters to do a better job (it's always possible to do a better job !). I think we forwarded your words to the promoter, we just wanted to give a feedback from Zrich aswell.

I hope that one day DJ Elusive plays in Mad. I think it's the perfect Club in Switzerland for him. He plays Progressive House/Trance and I think that the Oxa Club will never book him. So try to get Elusive to Mad!! Hope you've heard all his Oslo-Nights sets... Nobody knows him here in Switzerland, expect the real TA's...

btw

First track in the Tisto set was:
Andy Hunter - Go (Antillas Remix]

Does anybody knows which were the last tracks after Ron Van Den Beuken - Timeless and Igor S - Boomerang?!

Posted by romain_2k2c on Aug-25-2003 00:46:

- ID - Sounds like Max Walder (Samba Del Rio ??)
- William Orbit - Barber's Adagio for Strings (Tisto Magikal Remake)
- Rank1 - Breathin' (Breaks Dub)

... that's from what I remember :-)

Me neither!

Come on, the Oxa is not such a bad place. Ok, there are some weird people, but they often do have good music.

@romain_2k2c: keep up the great work!

Wow, I'm already looking forward to next year :=)

ok, you're right that Jon'O hasn't produced any big hits (yet), so only TA's know him... but he has still lot of time
( more ideas: Dj's like G&D (aka Motorcycle), or from the north Dj Stigma, Elusive , Misja Helsloot ...)

no work -> no fun ,hehe

hey, nothing to thank !
I'm glad for every support I can give

@ooookch: you're right! I find OXA pretty cool itself, it is more the neighb.hood ( it's not fun if you'r coming alone & without car there, you may get robbed or even beat'em up )
