Remixing

How do you get recognised as a remix DJ?? Make your own remix's but cutting trax up? or requesting to do remix's for free? whats the deal?? i done a remix for "Robert Miles" and his new Album "Organik" but it was a competition, just wondering how u can get into doing it more and more... i mean some of the remix's u hear are shit, and im sure many people on here can do better... so if anyone got any info plz let me know.. thanx.

I do know that artists don't get paid anything for remixes but they then do get recongnition for them. Competitions are good because if you are good then you'll eventually win and get recongnized.
