Trolls

Ok, here's what I'm thinking... I don't know how many other forums have this problem, but I'm sure that anyone who's seen trolls, hates them. And I know that excessive moderation is a bad thing, but I think it should be a rule that anyone who trolls and gets their troll account banned should get their main account banned too. The embarrassment over getting caught should be punishment enough, but some people just don't seem to take the hint.

I'm not saying that any of the mods should go out of their way to catch trolls, but in a situation where it's blatantly obvious (and there have been a few), I think it should be open policy that they get all their names banned.

Just my thoughts... it's OK for people to cause shit sometimes, but these ones really clutter up the boards and ruin important threads, like event postings. I would love to see something done about 'em.

I believe what he means is people who set up a second (or third or forth or fifth) user id and then use that id to make posts in a malicious manner.

If this is indeed what he is speaking of, his suggestion would make sense because it would remove the layer of protection given to their usual user id.

Yes that is what I meant, sorry I didn't explain it the first time around. And some people create 2nd accounts for OK reasons; I'm talking specifically about the ones that do it to be jerks.

all mods can ban any user (apart from swamper who i tried while drunk and u get a smart ass message ) so most trolls get caught in the end anyway.
