Wink CLIP -> George Hales - Autumn [Icone remix]

Hey all,

I've recently finished another Icone remix on the shelf, this time for George Hales (one half of Aspiration) - I think he's known here as 'revelx'.

Download (128 kbps) : george hales - autumn [icone remix clip]

Listen/Stream (128 kbps) : george hales - autumn [icone remix clip]

The remix is more of uplifting trance rather than the usual epic/emotional Icone trance, I hope it turns out ok. Lend me your thoughts on this one peepz

Thanks,
Wim / LW

Thumbs up Nice !!!

Hi Wim !!!
Well very nice remix...
I like a lot the sound of piano in your breakdown !
Well done !!!

Posted by Fractal on Aug-24-2003 14:18:

Oh yes!
One thing you should try to do, is to reduce the Hi-frequences in your EQ...
If you listen this clip somewhere at 1:58-2:02 mark you'll understand what I'm talking about
Good luck!

Two of my favorite producers on the boards! Incredible m8, love it.

Lovely! I love the break with the piano and pads. Excellent melody as well Looking forward to hearing the whole track.

in the full version, the lead synth distorts terribly on a big system, other than that, I fucking love it

Heard the full version It's great.

*shameless plug* look out for my remix soon!

Hey thanks for the feedback guys

I don't know what happened, but sometimes my mp3 encoder seems to fail... As there is no distortion I can hear in the mastered wave file. I do hear the clip in the mp3 file, maybe because of the quality (128 kbps)? Or just a bad encoder?

Thanks again
Wim

What encoder do you use?

If it isn't LAME, then it's lame

Hey people !
You know when you listen some tracks with Winamp you can notice some distortion even if it's an commercial track
So you should try another mp3 player maybe it would sound better

sounds very nice

Hehe

It's not LAME indeed... the encoder I have works with BladeEnc, which I didn't know yet. I did get rid of an older version of BladeEnc once because of its crappy quality, I might be getting a new one now as well
I'm using MPEG Suite to encode my tracks. There are several encoders to select, but not LAME. There's an encoder called "Plugger+" made by someone called Alberto Demichelis, which is quite good...

Thanks for pointing that out mate!

I've got the 192
and it distorts
I'd definately use a LAME encoder, the latest if possible

Hey

Yeah, blade is horrible, in fact nothing really comes close to lame, the next best probably being the codec from the developers of the format itself.

Lame is streaks ahead, you're mad not to use it. Don't be lame now

Mabye im the one that's lame...

Posted by Icone on Aug-27-2003 08:09:

dj_alucard :: sure i remember you i'm glad you like the track, thanks!

Az :: I heard the distortion also in the wave file, although there's no distortion at all in my FL program... you know what might cause this? overcompression maybe?

arctic :: i'll go get LAME, i think i have it somewhere. is there a good program that uses this encoder?

Cheers,
Wim

I really like this

not quite as good as the original mind

the kick drum on 2:14 needs reverb tho!!

Very pro, i love it so much!

The breakdown + buildup is spot on, the piano riff is amazing along with the lead. The mastering is as usuall great, the production is very clean and understandable, There is no bass grunges or anything.

On about mp3 encoders, i use Advanced Mp3 Studio and i have had no bother with it or anything although the mix sounded clean here so i wouldnt worry too much about it because if anyone had too much high end Eq it would probably be me .

Great stuff, get this tune signed and released so i can obtain this fine material on plastic and give it a good spinning!

wim:

dbpower amp: www.dbpoweramp.com (and .net)
eac: www.exactaudiocopy.de

there's two that use it, db is a good one to start out with, so i'd reccomend that

cool edit pro studio has best mp3 encoder, sounds exactly same as wave file

Posted by Icone on Aug-28-2003 09:01:

X-Hale :: Thanks mate! Remixes are hardly ever better than original tracks...

djtezz :: I'm glad you like it! As for the vinyl part, I'm gonna have to ask George again what he's intending to do with it.

arctic :: thanks for the links, I'm gonna get the first one. I once got exactaudiocopy, but it didn't look that straightforward to me... must be me

John :: will cool edit 2k also be good? or is this the version you mean?
