5AM at Spybar Review
Rocked up about 2am. Was pretty late as I was obliged to pop into bass to see my mate Stevie B play.
Thought Dave Begic played a really nice set of uplifting tunes. Only heard about 30 minutes of him but was well impressed. The only ones I recognised were
Darren Tate vs. Jono Grant - Let the light shine him
Insigma - Open your eyes
I think Jizza (Tha) and his mate Matt (think thats his name) were there cheering Dave on. Had a few close calls with the suspended decks, they looked pretty fragile and think those lesbian chicks may have bumped them while Dave was playing, but he did a great job to save it as it was right in the mix.
Next up was Pete Haviland.
I hadn't heard him play before but I was well impressed with his mixing and crowd reaciton. He was havin it large to say the least.
He had heaps of vocal support from Leah and Harry who were goin' nuts when he played
Queen vs. Vanguard - Flash
followed by
Clokx - Clocks.
Think he told me he made an edit of the tune on his computer and I couldn't really understand what he meant. But a true performer.
Then Alby Mangler finished off proceedings with a little bit of help from myself. Thanks top Tracey for selecting the tunes. We played:
Circ - Destroy she Said
Master and Nickson - Out there (vocal mix)
DT8 - Destination (Jurgen Mix)
040 - Dreams (Summer 040 Mix)
Jan Johnson - Calling your name (Neo & Farina Mix).
and a few others.
Unfortunately missed Christos (again) sorry dude) and also Duncan and JPL. But heard all rocked it and played really well.
Overall it was a great nite, with the highlight being the lesbian chicks going for it on the dancefloor (received good crowd reaction for that display) and for me the set by Dave Begic which was well rockin'.

as the rush comes, epic, airwave, solex, smooth, let the light shine in, sum awesome mix of north pole... man if these songs dont make you moist then there's something wrong you (and i'm usually the most hopeless with rememberin' tunes - that's how good it was). coupled with those skanky-ass leso's, i think i was close to embarassing myself by nights end.
sorry to duncs, steve and the other guys i didn't get to see but by all reports nothing short of usual 5am standards.

I hope my mate aint holding a cup of coffee when he innocently gets the weekly itm update & logs into the photo section... there'll be coffee sprayed all over the screen..... but then again... maybe he was a whole lot happier when they got home that night??

They had a jazz band and then cafe del mar type stuff playing before I started and they cleared the tables and stuff off so I had to start a bit more mellow, good crowd reactions, the dance floor was absolutely chockers with like 4 girls having a dance, and mangler and m boppin in the corner writing my report card (and a little loulou as well). Thanks for the support everyone, I'm serious, to those that came hehehe.

Great night, top tunes from everyone, and all the djs played great sets, couldn't really pick a favourite to be honest.... although playing Flash always gets bonus points 
some other highlights were Chris's Sparkles (transa mix) and Pete's Soutside Spinners, oh and of course... JPL's Tears From The Moon... mmmmmmm
Really nice atmosphere at spy bar, except I hope that I won't have to hold up and fix speakers for 20 mins everytime we go there 
By the way I borrowed Mangler's headfones for my set, keep that in mind as you read My Report!:

whoa....what a night it started out to be!! Duncan Bay nailed his set and warmed the night up just perfectly. Then came ME! A few highlights of my set (can't remember all tracks I played and not in any order):

I then played my all time personal favourites (amongst others):

Steve Strangis played a stormer (dulce Vita, veracocha, amenesia) wikked tunes and a crowd pleaser.
Then came JPL....awesome set too bro, played a few pearlers (Spaceman, tears from the moon, and various others!!)
I left near the end of JPL's set to nurse my pounding headache and my 'not quite over it' flu. Unfortunately didn't hear the rest of the crew but I am sure they rocked it!
All in all a top venue aside from the people asking me to turn it up and turn it down throughout my set...sheesh! I always cop that and next time i'll have to hire the big red machine to ward off any would be 'volume' bandits!!!
and Julian R....next time gadget, next time!!! :P All good mate!

No I played it off cd Jase. Absolutely love that track and just had to give it a spin...
Those vocals are so mesmeric.
had a great night besides the headaches of some really stupid little shits jumping around and almost making speakers fall into my head.
was good to see the usual pimps, tha, strangis, albert, leah, julesplees, christos etc.
can't wait to get out there and hammer it again, minus the teeny boppers.
stuff is cool
