Posted by Unknown DJ on Aug-25-2003 14:57:

Posted by gatecrasher on Aug-25-2003 16:36:

I heard we (UK) cant b posectuted by the RIAA because they are American based and they cant dont have authority here

Posted by DJ_FRAZ on Aug-25-2003 16:41:

Posted by AndskiSpeed on Aug-25-2003 16:47:

Posted by Turner on Aug-25-2003 17:40:

Stab them in the eye with a screw driver.

Posted by flystyler on Aug-25-2003 17:42:

Dont use kazaa for sharing mp3s, heh, use the hub.

And im waiting to be contacted about my site, but already stopped sharing tracks that labels have asked me to.

But the whole sharing scene is getting annoying now. But we share trance, they seem to concentrate more on the pop music side, so if yr little sister is using yr comp to download crap pop music, make sure she moves it out of the sharing folder as soon as its downloaded.

Posted by dj_mdma on Aug-25-2003 17:46:

american legislation can suck my bollocks
especially if its a fit blonde lawyer doing it

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Aug-25-2003 17:58:

heh thats probably all bollox. i heard there were a few people going around pretending to be the RIAA and trying to scare people on kazaa. but if that is real, its unlikely they'll do anything to u since u are in the UK, and the RIAA can only go after Americans. if it goes any further tho, and they do get ur details, be sure to hide ur mp3 cdr folder, and format ur computer many times so it cant be undone Make sure the only mp3's on ur computer are legal ones, ie. ur own productions, so that if they do say we no uve been sharing mp3s, just say "yes. they are my own." etc..

Posted by Martin McG on Aug-25-2003 18:17:

i aint formatting my comp for they fucks

they can sook me if i get another email from them as i dont even have kazaa installed

i only use the hub

ah well there all pricks

it may be fake, but it certainly looks a lot more real than the one rb2k1 got.. what email address was it from?

you cant be done by the RIAA in the UK, but the RIAA will be very friendly with the opposite number in the UK, and could probably arrange things if they really wanted you.

and dont just format, fdisk it first

Posted by Martin McG on Aug-25-2003 19:09:

fact.gov.uk or something like that

TBH i aint really bothered about it

dont think anything will come of it but i thought id just post it up to make people aware of it!

the organisation 'fact' is "The UK's leading organisation for the support & exhibition of film, video and new media projects"..

i.e. fuck all to do with music.

plus in the email it said 'ria', not 'riaa'. they wouldnt make a shit mistake like that, and they would probably use an riaa email address.

+ if u havent used kazaa in months then i wouldnt be too bothered.. they only started doing this a few months ago

Posted by Spyder on Aug-25-2003 19:25:

sad sad world we live in now a days..

fuck em switch your isp even i though i doubt it will change much but alwyas good to try one way or another

Posted by Martin McG on Aug-25-2003 19:25:

you got some valid points there!

cheers tu_face

i think that sentence proves its fake - if it was legit then there would be no grammer errors, notice how the dumb bastard who wrote the email put a full stop after 'files', that shouldn't be there should it!

Posted by djrichy on Aug-25-2003 20:05:

plus i thought it were called "Kazaa Lite"?!

Spot on what i thought with the 'ria' bit jeff

plyus fact is in lower case.

And another thing, you would have heard a lot more about these organisations going against the developers of kazaalite aswell, which would have been enuogh of a forwarning

i reckon you should email back and ask them to provide u with the details they are getting from ur isp, and also ask ur isp if they have provided details. u have a legal right to know due to data protection laws.

OH YUSS
