Jester I gots me a DJM 600...

Woot! I finally got the mixer I've always wanted! It just arrived at the office today. I can't wait to get home and let it rip!

BTW:

i) Anybody know where I can buy extra short-circuit pin plugs for the mixer?

ii) Anything I should be extra careful with on this mixer? Knowing my luck with my equipment, I don't want to do anything to pooch this thing..

I have one of those. It's not as good as the Djm 600 but it does the job. I love messing around with it. FINALLY! A mixer with eq's!

Jester

Anybody have a power-amp and a monitor they want to sell?

I've discovered that my home stereo doesn't like playing phono coming out of a mixer (tried with 3 different mixers - bass distortion, turntables directly - no distortion) - so I need to get a power-amp and a monitor.

Also - I have a Vestax PCM-175 for sale - works perfectly, and only like 5 months old (from Feb 2003). Any takers?

Hmm.. Good idea..... I've never named a mixer before.... But the name "Missy" sounds good (a typical car, equipment, mixer name I know)....

Missy "the mixer" 600..

It just came out a few weeks ago. Inital reviews say it's pretty good, but the FX/Sample setup isn't as good as the DJM600 - but as far as the mixer goes, it works pretty good. Djx700 reviewers have all had the standard concerns that they have with ~any~ Behringer product: a) reliability [how long will it last?] b) resale value [what can I get for it when I don't want it anymore]. I've never owned a Behringer product - so I can't comment - but those seem to be the two main points of discussion on the Djx700 (and any other Behringer product). So I guess we'll have to see on both - since the Djx700 is so new. But everybody has said @ $199 US$ - it's a good value for the dollar.

yea well my dream mixer would be a djm600 but i can't afford that so i guess the djx700 was a more reasonable option.

Congrats on getting your mixer!

I've had that mixer for about a year, and I've never encountered any problems with it yet. Just take care of it properely (don't spill stuff on it or drop it) and it should always work fine!!! Have fun with FX!

Posted by Rocco on Aug-27-2003 16:34:

yes i was gonna get me a vmx300 but then Nick_Energy got his DJM600 and gave me his old mixer so i was in no need of a mixer.. THANK'S NICK..

ne way, yea i use Nick's DJM600 and I LOVE THEM. I think they are one of the best mixers i worked with and i specially love the EQs...well once u get used to them anyway. Other than the cheap plastic feel of the knobs, all the fuctions work perfect.

Behringers are good for value.. the poor ones of us. But if some of u guys can wait, wait for a pioneer. By far the best pro mixer. Not the most expensive one either.

Behringers are value mixers. Most people are very happy with them. It's not as durable as most mixers are but if you take care of it, you won't have any problems

(basically for a home setup it shouldn't be a problem...if you plan on moving it around a lot, you might want something more durable)

Yeh, messing around with eq's can be fun but not toooo much, I find it gets annoying when I'm at a club and a dj does that. When I'm spinning at home I usually just mess around a bit with the eq's or even with the record itself (at certain parts...)

Posted by Elmo-On-XTC on Aug-28-2003 01:43:

i dont use the eqs as effects...but to make transitions less noticeable

Posted by Fire999 on Aug-28-2003 09:17:

Congrats on the new purchase....just wondering manys diners your 600 cost?

You should be able to get a Xone 62 by A & H for under 1500 cad.

Anyways, enjoy those effects! Damn sick of my 500...

Posted by gsx on Oct-30-2003 19:53:

for the money you spent on your 16bit djm600 you could've gotten a much better 24 bit a&e, rane, or tascam mixer. djm600's are not all they are hyped up to be.
