Gah!!!

i replied to this last night - right before the forum upgrade.

it went on the lines of - i love this, it reminds me of your remix of Meriva which was my favourite trance tune for two weeks or so, bur for some reason the bass doesn't sound right to me, especially in the early parts when there is no leads...

Posted by Icone on Aug-28-2003 09:34:

Ah the mastering is indeed very good this time. The lead is very clear to me, and sounds great. I can see JMF's point about the bassline, perhaps it's a little too flat? The kick needs to be brought up in my opinion, sounds too weak to me.

Loved the soft vibe in it, this will be very nice once more me thinks

Take care,
Wim

Thanks everyone for your comments, they are very much appreciated!

About the bass....

I have had some troubles with it, before this "master", the bass was very muddy, and i had to work hard to cut out those frequencies that were causing the muffly sound, but as soon as i got rid of those, the bass seemed to lose its "umpf"! So what would you guys suggest? Compression? I think im going to compress the BD more, to make it punchier and bring it out of the mix more.

Any help

Cheers Johnny

I have completely changed the bassline now peeps, and made the BD shine through more, and i`m in the process of now toning down those crashes, they are too harsh sounding, thanks for all the comments!

Shep

P.S.- No more sneak peaks, you'll have to wait for the final version MUHAHAHA
