lets get some reviews! Whats wrong with the delay and the echo. I'm waiting to decide between the vmx-300 and the djx-700.

for the dutch-speaking people ammong us:
http://www.new-line.nl/webshop/reviews/read.asp?i=12277

Most people aren't too happy with the effects, since most of them are quite useless...

hey thanx photo-bot and endess!!!

oh i forgot to ask, how is the flange effect? and does it have the 8 second sample capabilities?
of course, the sound that comes out of the mixer is most important...but i am sooooo tempted to buy this mixer!!!!

Posted by Seany_G on Aug-28-2003 20:10:

CMon we need some serious reviews! What ar ethe +'s/ -'s?

Whats wrong with the effects? How is the sound quality?

Hurry up so I can order mine!

Posted by NooKLeaR on Aug-28-2003 20:12:

Ok. Here's my review on effects. Effects like delay and echo are USELESS!!! You can only use them for certain bpms. aka the echo effect will only echo @ 126 bpm. It's a real bummer. The flanger and filter effectss are real cool though. You cannot edit how often it occurs (like every beat, every 2 beats, every measure, every 4 measures) but it is still very fun. You cannot mix 4 channels of all vinyl. There are only 3 channels that have phono inputs. The 4th is for Line-in or Cd. Any more questions..let me know.

Sound. Amazing. I love it. Very bright and crisp. The "surround sound" feature is mind blowing. Especially on a good system. Just makes you feel like it is being performed live. It's awesome.

Jester

I do not own this mixer, but here is a syopsys of what I've heard on other boards about it:

It just came out a few weeks ago. Inital reviews say it's pretty good, but the FX/Sample setup isn't as good as the DJM600 - but as far as the mixer goes, it works pretty good. Djx700 reviewers have all had the standard concerns that they have with ~any~ Behringer product: a) reliability [how long will it last?] b) resale value [what can I get for it when I don't want it anymore?]. I've never owned a Behringer product - so I can't comment - but those seem to be the two main points of discussion on the Djx700 (and any other Behringer product). So I guess we'll have to see on both - since the Djx700 is so new. But everybody has said @ $199 US$ - it's a good value for the dollar.

Posted by Tiger777 on Aug-29-2003 09:54:

Yah, I own a vmx 300(duh, <--- ) and I never noticed any noise(like I read somewhere in this or another thread, too lazy to search for it now... ). Maybe if you connect this mixer on a 1000W amp or something, but not for normal use. If you are a club dj that works with a DJM600, the DJX700 is an excellent choice for you at home. It's cheap but decent. It has all the things the DJM got, except decent fx. The DJX700 does won't be the death for the DJM600 mixer. My only conclusion is that the DJX/VMX mixers are excellent for the intermediate dj.

by the way:

very funny dknylady Had to laugh about it.

mine arives tomorow il have about half an hour to play with it b4 i go to spain w00t!

Posted by dknylady on Aug-29-2003 23:35:

heheh yeah i made that a long time ago, when i was bored at work.

tiger, i looove your avatar!!

yes i might just get this mixer. i have techs, the pioneer hdj1000s, and ortofon pro dj s concordes. so i feel like with my crappy mixer i have now, it's like,....i dunno, like i'm eating mcdonalds hamburgers off of $500 gold china or something.

Posted by Tiger777 on Aug-30-2003 10:01:

The mixer is (in my opinion) the most important part of your equipment. That's why I've chosen to upgrade my mixer first, and after that, my turntable(s)

Posted by clubsolutely on Aug-30-2003 10:01:

i got this mixer on wednesday and besides a few effects that are useless that mixer rockz! worth the price thats for sure

Posted by Zayatz on Aug-30-2003 11:46:

mhh. useless effects?

[n00b]
and question: how long it will last?
and what is the weakest part of mixer? what will break or something...

Posted by Tiger777 on Aug-30-2003 12:00:

Behringer usually produces high quality products that are made to last. Of course, it isn't a mixer that you can attach to a 1000W PA amplifier. (you'll hear noice then). It's an excellent mixer with an excellent price/quality for home use.

Posted by TwiloNYC on Aug-30-2003 17:33:

Ok, I'll ask this once more.... can you mix more than 2 channels at a time? 3 or 4 channels @ once? I ask this because I dont see a 'thru' option in the x-fader channel selector and I've read somewhere that it couldn't. How's the frequency kills on it? Faders? Good? Bad? C'mon please, a little more of an indepth review please.

Posted by Tiger777 on Aug-30-2003 18:59:

nope, you can only fade between ch1 and 4. For the other channels, you need to use the volume controlers.

Posted by Seany_G on Aug-30-2003 20:53:

Whats this about only using channels 1 and 4?
