Perth: Jon Noonan on Teknoscape Radio 30-8-03

Hey everyone,

Tomorrow (Saturday) from 10-11pm I'll be djing on TS Radio, 88.0FM, playing a progressive trance set so if you aren't doing anything tune in and have a listen

I've heard rumours that the signal is not good in Perth so you might not be able to tune in, but if you still want to hear my set it will be available to download off the Teknoscape website hopefully next week.

Full tracklisting will be posted on Sunday.

Happy listening!

Well, I wasn't expecting this:

I got to the radio station at 9:45pm in time for a 10pm dj slot and waited outside for 15mins banging on the door and calling the station on my mobile. I then talked to one of the guys at Club Red Sea (they're next door) and he gave me the station manager's mobile no. After calling him he told me that the station had closed down as of yesterday and someone was supposed to ring me up, which they obviously hadn't. I was not impressed.

From what I've heard so far they've had to temporarily close down due to licensing ..

The station isn't a "piece of shit" at all. They're doing something really good for perth.

Who wants to listen to hip-hop 24x7 ?

It allows the lesser popular genres to be played out and an oppurtunity, especially via the Teknoscape sessions, for DJs who don't usually play out to get a chance to be heard by other people (yes, I do realise some of the "bigger" name perth DJs are playing on there, but even so, people like Jon, Lanithium, JoeCool, Slade etc get a chance to be heard by people who can't make it down to their rare appearances around perth..)

Its unfortunate that communication broke down with getting information to Jon, but thats what happens when dealing with people..

Hopefully the licensing issue will be sorted out soon and everything will return to normal!
