HELP . . . Confused . . .

This is all I want to do:
I want to take a bunch of songs and be able to fade them in and out of one another to make a custom mix, then I want to burn it on a CD.
I used the Crossfading on Windows Media Player but it didn't record the fading onto the CD when I burned it, even though it was 'on'.
What would be a good program just to accomplish this? I can get a copy of Tracktor DJ Studio 2, but I won't have the manual, which I'm sure is definately needed. Any ideas?

Plenty of software can do this for you.

CD Architect from Sonic Foundry is dedicated to the job though
