Home speakers

I'm not all to sure what to look for in terms of speakers... my stereo is really sub-par and I'm looking to get speakers for DJ monitoring and thats all for now. I'm looking for either an amp and speakers or powered speakers for around 200-300 (in USD). Does anyone have any recommendations... its for the size I suppose of your average bedroom... maybe slightly larger.

I'm thinking about getthing those. Crisp, clear, self powered (no amp needed) and really small (only 5 inches tall).

They are going for something like $200-240 usd.

Some studio monitors dont need an amp...some (the more exspensive ones usually) require an amp...I still need to buy some good studio monitors myself...was looking at Rolands

save up 2000 bux and buy the ATC Audio 10 powered monitors...

they run straight through xlr...

amazing monitors

Those look great and all but 33Hz out of a 5.25" woofer? Give me a break. $1000+ speaker towers w/ dual 8"s have trouble getting that low and response is usually in the low 40hz.

Yeah I noticed that too but I gave them a litsen and they sound really clear, and precise. For the price and the size it's perfect for me (I have a small room so I need something that is clear even at lower volumes). For the price it's a good deal.
