Help finishing up this nighttime driving compilation CD

In the process of making a 70-minute compilation CD of tracks to drive to at night. Mostly vocal or progressive with vocal bits. I've cut it down to the following so far:

quote:

11 tracks in playlist, average track length: 6:55
Playlist length: 1 hour 16 minutes 9 seconds

Playlist files:

CJ Stone - The Sun Goes Down [Sunrise Vocal Mix]
Oceanlab - Clear Blue Water
BT - Somnambulist (album version)
BT - PARIS
Firewall - Sincere (swaaye's AvB ASOT 81 rip)
Solar Stone - Speak In Sympathy (Original Mix)
Madelyne - Beautiful Child (4 Strings Vocal mix)
Sholan - Can You Feel (Thrillseekers Remix)
Sonorus - Protonic (Ronski Speed Mix)
Solar Stone - Solar Coaster (Airbase Remake)
Chicane - Daylight

I can picture driving fast at night to all of those tracks, but I've got about 4 minutes of space left.

Is there a track you would remove? What would you replace it with?

Is there a short vocal trance track that would complete this CD well? Or should I drop another of the short tracks (CBWater, Somnambulist, and Daylight are the shortest three) and replace it with a longer one?

Some tracks I already weeded through:

Chicane - Love on the run
Rank 1 - Airwave 2003 (Breathing) (Original Mix)
Corderoy - Sweetest Dreams (Greg Murray Remix)
Chicane - Spirit
Ian Van Dahl - Will I (Voodoo & Serano Mix)
The Traveller and In Motion - believe key south rmx
BT - Somnambulist (Sander Kleinenberg Convertible Mix)
Aurora - The Day It Rained Forever
Chicane - Empires
Tukan - Light A Rainbow
BT - The Force Of Gravity
BT - Somnambulist (Burfunk Remix)
Scott Bond vs. Solarstone - The 3rd Earth
Marc Et Claude - La (Corderoy Remix)
Gabriel & Dresden - Lament (Original Mix)

Those last three almost made it but they're either too long or a little too slow and repetitive in their overall progression. Chicane - Empires is TIGHT but not really sure it fits the feeling of the rest of the album. Plus I'd have to drop one of the smaller songs to fit that on it.

If I get enough good suggestions I may end up making two CDs.

Nu-NRG - Marinero (Nu-NRG Remix)!!!
Tenth planet-ghosts
Perpetuous Dreamer "The Sound of Goodbye"
Solid Sessions - Janeiro
Aquanuts - Deep Sea (Martin Eyerer Remix)
system F- Cry (dot NL mix)

Yeah I've got Ghosts and Janeiro but Janeiro doesn't fit nighttime driving (talking about walking on the beach, etc), but Ghosts might work. Thanks. Keep them coming!

Also I just replaced Beautiful Child with Deeper Love (same song, no lyrics, because I actually prefer that one without vocals).

I think I might stick Nihls Van Gogh - Another Joy on it.

edit - I think this will be CD1:

quote:
12 tracks in playlist, average track length: 6:39
Playlist length: 1 hour 19 minutes 52 seconds

Playlist files:

CJ Stone - The Sun Goes Down [Sunrise Vocal Mix]
Oceanlab - Clear Blue Water
BT - Somnambulist
BT - PARIS
Firewall - Sincere (swaaye's AvB ASOT 81 rip)
Nils Van Gogh - Another Joy
Solar Stone - Speak In Sympathy (Original Mix)
Madelyne - Deeper Love (4 Strings Mix)
Sonorus - Protonic (Ronski Speed Mix)
Sholan - Can You Feel (Thrillseekers Remix)
Solar Stone - Solar Coaster (Airbase Remake)
Chicane - Daylight

Now on to CD2...

and how about replace airbase remake of solarcoaster with the original or midway mixes.... or indeed even the steve murano/greg murray mixes.

for driving in general i would suggest:

Trance Allstars - Go (Talla2XLC Remix)

because it is energetic and tunnellike ... i just love it in the car

I've found Force of Gravity works fantastic in a car, the rain intro really does wonders.

And for really late night driving, i like something softer, like Andain - You Once Told Me... or something....

If I were you, I'd put most of my money on Yahel's Going Up [Magikal remake]. It has a mildly fast prog/trance beat to it that might work well with the songs you already got

Or maybe Solar Stone's The Calling. I have it on one of my mixes that, although is a little spacey, can keep me up if I'm speeding home at 4am.

Four minutes? Goddamn..

Rank 1 - Passage To The Unknown (Original Mix) 3:33

Smiley DJ

Awesome, checking out those suggestions now!

Man, the Calling would be great if the lyrics weren't so incredibly stupid. The Rank1 track is good. Listening to Yahel now.

I know what you mean about The Calling's lyrics being stupid...its a great song until that guy's voice comes in at the very end and ruins the feel-at least, thats how it is on my version, ripped from Trance Trippin'.

Yup. I tried two versions and it's the same thing on both.
