-- Are there positive rip-offs?

Question

Sometimes you hear a good song and you think:
"haven't I heard that before?"
and then you listen better and Yes.
It's a rip-off.
It looks a lot like the 'original song'
but has some different tunes and melody's

What do U think about that:
Is it just cheap?
Or do U think it's good that people try to make a song that sounds just as good as a already existing song?

I don't need your opinion about (re)mixes,
but only about the item "rip-offs"

And if U know some good rip-offs of well-known songs, mention them.

Thanks,
ADK

Talking Cygnus X........????

The best rip-off is for sure: Cygnus X - Superstring
the normal version sucks, but the Rank 1 RMX is the best.

Cool An RMX is not a rip-off....

Mr. Blik,

You're talking about a RMX, and I think ADK has clearly said that this subject was about "rip-offs"...

So:

He don't need your opinion about (re)mixes,
but only about the item "rip-offs"

But thank you anyway Mr. Blik....try again later if ya want to....

ADK, no thnx, it was a pleasure to do this....

Arrow

I don't mind covers of old classic tunes. Especially on the dancefloor, you recognise the song but its all trancey and stuff.

And many trance/techno covers tend to be very different (not talking about commercial euro stuff) from the original so it would be hard to call them just a plain rip-off.

A great melody or "hook" can be done in many different styles.

One cover that springs to my mind is
DJ Jo - Sweet Dreams, especially DJ Marc La Cruz & Ace Da Brain Mix.

The original is of course Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams.
