Wheres the news?
Where's the obvious "and vice versa" ?
In every country minorities will be seen through the eyes of prejudice, especially in a country with this history and where this minority is more or less "linked" (if only culturally) to people who are de facto waging war against you.

While many Israeli-Arabs say they enjoy political freedoms and economic opportunities that they might not find in Arab states, they generally also say that they feel like second-class citizens.

It's vital to keep that in mind. About them being second-class citizens, while its true to some extent, the situation keeps getting better and will actually completely SOLVE itself once the Israeli - Palestinian conflict is dissolved.

I just came from Israel, and went to this Arab restaurant once. Didnt we talk? Do you think there were attempts to kill each other while the food was served? My little cousin played with the owner's little girls actually and later we sat down and had some good arab coffee. There's no reason as to why it shouldnt work out. But first the Arab Israelis TEMSELVES should become clear about their own identity. Will they see themselves as Palestinians who wait to re-obtain their "Palestine" or will they try to fully integrate themselves, adapt elemnts of Israeli culture, become partly Israeli.

I think the treatment of arab israeli's is the similar to the situation of Blacks in America. Although they have freedoms like all other citizens, they are not seen as "equal" in the ladder of success.

I've always wanted to know what the Arab Jews think about this whole conflict.

i agree with TranceGiant,i think that time will fix the probs of the arab israelies but first they need to define themselfs,if they will choose to be a law keeping israelies then they will be in a higher place like the "arab-jewish" people(even though there"s no such thing) - in israel that are now equal unlike the past

It's partially true, but the terrorists are also equally responsible for the cycle of violence.

Or Blacks in Canada.

first:

No doubt, Israel still has a long way to go to create a welcoming environment for all its citizens, however it is a young country, and I am sure thanks to report like this and a citizenary that is informed and aware it will only be a matter a time before a more cooperative and friendly environment appears.

I also believe however, that the current Palestinian hostilities cause a tenssion amoungst Arab and Jewish citizerny that will be hard to elevate till the conflict is over.

Saying that, lets put things in perspective:

As far as I know Arab Jews show no discernable patterns against Western Jews regarding western Jews if we were to talk abotu spectrum, if we were to judge by their voting patters however, they tend to support more right wing policies, and are big backers of the Likud and religious parties in the parliment.

As for Arab Israelis, they are currently experincing an identity crisies, half say they are Israelis, the other they are Palestinians, they simply can not decide at this time.. and this is very troubling both to them and other Israelis.

This looks a bit too subjective.

When we talk about "Arab Israeli's" here, I feel that your talking about Arab-Jews. Others may see it as Muslim Israeli's. Some on this board may get confused, so subsituting Arab Israelis (who can be Jewish or Muslim), with Muslim Israelis would be more appropriate, and clear.
