Angry NEW DJs LIST !!!! - TRANCE NEEDS NEW BLOOD -

DJ CALL - TRANCE NEEDS NEW BLOOD -

Am I the only one who no longer enjoys himself at a PvD or TIESTO event? I dont want to get flamed and say what I really feel ("that they should retire") but,

CAN WE MAKE A LIST OF *NEW* OR UP-AND-COMING-DJS THAT SPIN TRANCE WELL AND DON'T GET THE BIG RECOGNITION (for now, until they make it)

WORLD-WIDE I'm looking forward to it.

Satan (eek!)

well sorry to be an ass and reply to my own thread but I got some.

from japan :

Yoji Biomehanika
Dj NISH

Posted by spinswax on Sep-08-2003 14:52:

DJ Cor Fijinmann (probably spelt worng)
DJ Treavor from Moontribe LA (Techy Psi trance but the most inspiring beats I have heard in awhile)
There are little known Spanish guys that are up and coming as well as people from the former eastern block.....
I agree it is time for the new blood to break through to matintain the flow of new music. For awhile there was a plethora of new talent and ideas and now it seems that either it has stagnated or people are satisfied with the status quo.....
personally I am sick of PVD's productions....nothing has changed since 1998's for an angel...same kick drum same clap, same beat structure.....
I am sending CD's of me out to anyone who wants one...no I am not an egomaniac and think I am the next big thing...I just want to share music with as many people as I can...so if you are interested PM me

yes. pvd, tiesto, oakie, ferry - none of them are good enough for me. armin is the only that i like for his proggier ASOT's, but tends to play too much anthems in a row when playing for a crowd.

john '00' fleming isn't exactly new, but his style is a lot more exciting and less comercial than the most known dudes. best dj of the moment.

jon o'bir is gonna be huge. still very young, has a big career in front of him. his style is a bit too armin-ish though. likes to play material from unheard/amateur producers.

btw, this is in the wrong forum -> music discussion forum would be the place for it i guess.

I was just about to post this kind of thread, but you read my mind. The scene is stale lately, and PVD, Oakey,etc... should "take a break". There is talent out there waiting to be heard. Probably half the bedroom DJ's could blow away these old timers. My favorite trance dj is "00" Fleming. (And I'm not much of a trance fan) He can bring down the house without the "cheese".

I just listened to John 00 Flemming and thats some good stuff. I like it!

DJ Cor Fijneman is under the tutelage of one DJ Tiesto, so he has a great start, hasn't released much though in the way of Albums only some remixed singles, like Venus and Impact-Now Way Out, Cortina

Cor, under both the Hammock Bros. guise and outside it, has been co-producing tracks with Tiesto since the late 90's (Theme from Norefjell, Sparkles) so I wouldn't exactly call him new...

Def. agree about Jon O'Bir tho

I saw him in LA last week. Quite frankly, I didn't enjoy my self until he played As The Rush Comes. He was a clean mixer, but there was something I didn't like. Dunno what it is. Maybe because there was like 30 people in the room or something, but I dunno. Just my opinion.

I agree he is not new but in the sense of producing his own albums that part is yet to come remember it takes a DJ years to make it to the top of the list and that was what I was getting at about Fijneman. Next 2 or 3 years as far as new DJs on the scene with name recognition you never know.

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Sep-21-2003 06:02:

Why would you want PVD and Tisto to change there production? They do what they do best!

Posted by Sergio on Sep-21-2003 06:37:

hmmm . I thought John 00 sucked, but I'll have to check him out!!! thnx.

Sasha said "James Holden is the man"! And he is soooo right!

No offense, but if you guys would get off your asses and actually search properly, you'd find that there are tons of new talent bubbling in the trance scene at the moment. Let me name some:

Gavyn Mytchel
John Askew
Adam Sheridan
Jon O Bir
Victor Dinaire
Andy Prinz
Petrae Foy
Niklas Harding
Mike Shiver
Andy Bagguley

And then our own TA heroes:

Passiva,Haak,Project T,Dave Masters,Robert Nickson,breakaholic aka Beetseekers,C-Quence, Bart van Wissen aka Fictivision etc.

So I don't really see a talent shortage coming for a while.

hey ******, whats up with the "HOLIER THAN THOU" attitude?
Actually I've only heard of one from your list, "Andy Prinz" and I'm preety well connected.

Irrespective, your asshole-ish ways of presenting this talent immediately turns me off from it. so .....

Sincerely,

Serge

My post was no less "holier than thou" than the post you started this thread with, so if you can't handle somebody responding to your post in the same manner as you wrote yourself, you are a hypocrite. Furthermore, if you don't wanna check out the people on my list cos of the way I wrote it,then it is your loss.I was just trying to help, but thanks to your rather hypocriticl and childish response, I'll stop helping people who write posts like the ones you did from now on.

PS. Yoji Biomehanika has been into dance music for over 10 years. Calling him "new blood" or even "new trance blood" for that matter (Yoji would probably laugh in ur face if you called his style trance) is nowhere near doing him justice.

Posted by Sergio on Sep-23-2003 05:29:

Thumbs down

buddy it seems to me like you're just wanting to push your style and wares to everyone, and thats not right. no-one is doubting your knowledge of music, but there's no reason to tell people that they "havent searched right".

Maybe I should've put it another way for you :

When I said new BLOOD, I meant new ***internationally-recognized djs*** that aren't all that well-known.Everyone was participating and keeping it real until you came in with some beef to broil.

& don't even try to come off as an expert on Yoji biomehanika, he's new in the "internationally-recognized" scene and half of the ppl here dont know who he is, and his style, although a FUSION, is predominantly trance / hard trance. He's said so himself.

Question Lots of Trance Dj's available...depends on what you like.

Two of my favorites where already mentioned: Cor Fijneman and John 00...for my particular style, Edgar V is my favorite. In my opinion there is no lack of new talent out there; I have heard many DJ's spin whom I have never heard of, yet they did an excellent job on the night they spun. If you think there is a shortage of good DJ's checkout the Djlist.

You're right, I probably shouldn't have been as harsh as my post was. I apologize for that.I was having a bad day, and it just annoys me when I see somebody complaining about trance's shortage of talent as soon as Tiesto or PvD aren't doing it for them anymore, since my experience with it is that they usually have done no research whatsoever.

Ah,that makes it diff tho. If that is what we go by, Yoji would deffo fit into the "new blood" category.

Posted by davidbcn on Sep-26-2003 19:19:

I saw Cor Fijneman this summer and he said nothing to me. He plays as any other.
But I think in the last years we have found some new blood: what about Gabriel & Dresden, Markus Schulz, James Talk, James Zabiela, James Holden (every new trance dj is called James? ) or Eddie Halliwell?

PD: Spanish guys are Frank T.R.A.X., Jaccot, Julius MC, Abel Ramos and Viframa?
