xp freezing my mouse

Every so often, my mouse seems to stop working since i've upgraded to xp, it's running on a usb port and the battery level is good, but it just freezes randomly, ne1 able to help ?

it's a logitech cordless mouse (and keyboard which works fine when the mouse goes) and xp pro with sp2

I've reinstalled the driver & it's been ok, tho i've not been on the comp long enough for it to happen, plus it was just random, but who knows

mine does the same thing. I have an IBM mouse and a valid version of xp. so I wish someone could help the both of us.

mine regular does it still on a good version of xp pro, only like once a day but usually when im recording some of my tunes or mixes & it pisses me off like

i think mine only does it when i have cubase open. It made me have to reboot today and the song i was working on will not open back up. it says 'not a valid project file" does anybody know how to recover my song file?

I had a similiar problem with my cordless mouse. It turned out that one of the batteries wasn't touching the contact particularly well, so I used a screwdriver to gently ease the contact outwards and it fixed the problem.

I hope this helps as it's the only plausible explanation I can think of!

i have the cordless comfort keyboard (works fine all the time) but my track ball (logitech) which is cordless does the same thing. would freeze up on me. the only way i could get it going again is to hit the window key to get it going again. sometimes it acts very sluggish as if the arrow is being pushed though the sand rather than moving like it is on ice. i have mine plugged into the ps2 mouse and keyboard connector. did the same thing when i used the usb too.

and my xp pro is legit. hope logitech updates their driver soon.

Cordless mice are renowed for bad battery contacts .. my Microsoft mouse is pretty much the same :/

Every now and then it'll just stop moving and the infrared light isn't flickering, so I just turn it over and tap the batteries and it works again
