laser hair removal?
has anyone done this yet? im thinking of it.
it costs a SHITLOAD.
a good friend of mine had it done in her bikini area. it left some temporary (non-painful) burns that faded within a few months and the doctor apologized profusely.
it's effective if you have dark hair and lighter skin. doesn't work too well with dark skin and anyone with light hair.
You got laser hair
and you want to remove it?
i had it done. i got my legs and bikini area done. i have really white skin and really dark hair. it made a really big difference but it didnt get anywhere close to all of the hair. i went 6 times at $1200/ treatment. i couldnt afford it anymore so now i get waxing done. the laser work made enough of a difference that i an go a month between waxing without looking like a monster. if i had the money i would get some more laser work done but i have to pay rent...
i want to go get my back done, dont laugh please.
i'm only 15 and i don't have hair on my face yet

i used to have a uni-brow until i had laser....my parents paid for it when i was in HS...so i don't know the cost...it was a little area, nothing too bad. the worst part is that you see a bright flash through your skin, and my eyes are light sensitive, so it was pretty bright. but, for me, it didn't swell or anything too bad....just got a little red and sore for a day or two. however, i would definitely research it cause i've seen those tv shows where they show people who have had it go really bad for them. like, severe burns and such. so, make sure if you do do it, that the place is reputable and than you know all the risks involved. as far as regrowth...i really have no regrowth. people don't know i had it done except for my friends from high school who knew me before. occasionally i will get a few hairs here and there, but i just pluck them...
why didnt u just pluck it from the beginning? unless it was too much to handle?

| Originally posted by butterfly i agree. some people dont understand what it is to be hairy. your back will be expensive and as already mentioned here, it will work better if you have light skin and dark hair. if you can afford it go for it. i really liked it. this is where i went. maybe they can answer some of your questions, even though they probably dont have a center near you: http://www.reflectionscenter.com |
The reason it doesn't remove all the hair permanently is because it only acts on active follicles. And half of the hair follicles on your body are inactive at any given time... So it effectively kills only a part of your total hair follicles.
(Not too sure if the term 'active' is the correct way to describe it, but thats the general concept)
Generally, Asians don't have much body hair. But I'm an exception. :/

im like a translucent rug. but it works pretty well cuz its just hairy chest legs and arms, luckily my back isnt hairy! thats the fucking worst haha sorry moonshine, you should do it. my hair isnt even what you would call blonde its seriously see-through with very faint blonde undertones...kinda cool
I was thinking of getting this done, for my back too. Then I realized how poor I am so I didn't do it. I use that epil stop stuff. it works pretty good. but sometimes i just let it grow so that I can take off my shirt without anyone noticing that I'm not wearing one. Plus it keeps me warm in the winter.

sounds desperate to me
why are people so unhappy with the way they look. it always confused me about this hair removal stuff. do you think your friends will make fun of you for having hair on your body? beside, ifyou go to the beach, so what if epople see you, as if you are going to ever see them again

if u mind then u dont have to worry about it.
hm, well this is interesting.. i hadnt known that it only really works well if you have dark hair.
my skin is quite fair, but i have blond (or maybe brown) hair. does this mean it wouldnt work well? i plan on getting all of it "down there" done. quite a good investment, as far as im concerned.

(i speak solely about the area that i will be getting done) im not sure if youve dated anyone yet, or had sex, but i think i can honestly say that no one, male or female, enjoys choking on pubic hairs. thus, most people who are even remotely in tune with their partner, tend to shave, or at least trim it. think about how much time this takes you.. not to mention, i think body hair is fucking nasty and id rather look smooth and sexy. thus, im willing to spend a substantial amount of money to save me time for the rest of my life. its a consideration issue, and a personal "body hair is disgusting, and i look way better without it" issue... NOT a "oh no!!!! what will my friends think of me" issue. plus it makes my piercings look good. shrug. |
