Brand New Numark TT-200 vs. Used Technics SL-1200 in good-very good condition
i'm about ready to upgrade my crappy numark to a better turntable. i've been looking around on dealtime.com and can find a brand new TT-200 (the same as the tt-x1 sans the gimmics and a slight less powerful motor) for about $200, and i've also been looking around on eBay, and have found a few SL-1200 mk2s for less than $250. or i could buy 1 new sl-1210 m3g for $400. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanx

Do the right thing and get the Techs, you WON'T regret it, thats if they are in good condition though.
from personal experience, I've found you will NOT find decent tech 12's on ebay for less than $350 . . . the demand is just too high. personally, I have TT200's and have absolutely no complaints minus the target light and S-tonearm not being included. These are a good choice if you don't want to/can't fork over the cash for techs. But if you do have the money, go for it . . . if not, the TT200s are decent, too. If you have any questions feel free to PM or email me.

Be wary of condition/age of techs on Ebay. I've just heard bad stories. You might want to check out Guitar Center or SamAsh, if you live near one. They often get pretty decent used Techs in and are willing to work with the pricing. I bought two relatively new 1200's with cases and new stanton Discmaster cartridges for $600 about a year ago.
