our turntables are humming
i have searched this forum and only found info on checking the wires and making sure that they are grounded--which my boyfriend has done. the hum is only coming from one turntable and i switched them around, tried hooking up to every channel and still a hum. I unhooked every wire 100 times over my speaker equipment is very small so I don't think that is the problem. The only thing i can think is wrong is the ground wire but it is new? can it be the needle? help? this sucks? help?

Is it perfectly connected to the right ground point on your mixer? Are the DIN wires(the red and the white wires next to the gnd wire) good? What needle have you got?
I think, the problem lies with the pca wires... Some brands dare to give you pretty bad cables. I replaced them for both the tt's i've got.
i think we figured out the problem........we took the needle out and did it over again, and now it works.....we didn't get really good needles yet..........we have stantons and they were $100 for both....i am guessing that we should work on getting good needles....what does anyone recommend?? also, is it a good idea to replace the wires?? where do you get them??
Bia, apparently the best needles/cartridges for the money are Shure Whitelabels. I haven stanton's as well, meh...let's just say I'm saving up for the Whitelabel's.
save the cash and get a set of shure M44Gs, they sound about the same and you should save enough cash for a big ole case of beer... or other libations
they also dont look so flashy
i use M44-7 and i've never had any feedback with it....i placed the turntable not too close to my speakers, and all i got was a little feedback in my subwoofer....
if i'll ever get some gig to play at, i'll buy myself a feedback destroyer and bring it everytime!!!

My Numarks do the same thing. The Left one humms but the right one doesn't.
