Yerushalayim Shel Zahav

Was given this link and found it to be breathtaking to me as a Jew. I don't expect you all to feel what I felt towards this 90second clip, but I would very much like to share it with you guys.

I don't think there is anything that can describe what Jerusalem and the Western Wall mean to Jew's all over the word, but this clip gives it a good try.

For those of you who are wondering what the topic name means: literally translated, it means "Jerusalem of Gold". A well known phrase within the Jewish world.

It would be more along the lines of a Holy war! No joke.

Depends on the this "theorist" is.
There are many "theories" on the Jewish people and if the one you're talking about is just an opinion from some random Joe-shmoe with no credentials, than I don't care to read it. If this theorist is obviously trying to spread propaganda, or is hateful towards the Jew, then it has no place not only on this board, but in this world that we live in.

If someone blew up the wall there'd definitely be a war. Israelis would cut off all attempts at peacemaking and just bomb the shit out of the West Bank & Gaza, since the wall is a very very very very very religious place to us Jews (kinda like the Vatican for catholics).

Posted by malek on Sep-11-2003 04:09:

but then again, its just a wall.

*awaits flaming*

A question: Why is the wall holy? It's a long time since I read the old testament but I don't recall it being mentioned?!?

Wrt. the clip: It didn't move me neither, but I can see why (editing, colours, etc) you'd be moved if you had feelings for this wall in the first place.

Since you're so interested, here's a great explaination of why the Western wall is so holy to us Jews.
http://www.aish.com/wallcam/Why_the_Wall_is_Holy.asp
*also has a live cam 24/7 of the Western Wall.

Another site you may want to check out:

Perhaps a Christian perspective?
http://www.ctsp.co.il/LBS%20pages/LBS_western_wall.htm

Holds the world record for the Largest Stone.
An especially large course of stones is visible on the southern and western walls today. On the west the "Master Course" consists of four stones, the largest of which weighs 570 tons and is 44 feet long, 10 feet high and 12-16 feet deep. The next largest stone in the wall is a mere 40 feet long. The largest stone in the Great Pyramid weighs 11 tons.

I'll tell you one thing, that wall is always warm; physically speaking. You could ask anyone who has been to it, always warm. Even on a cold night, it could keep you warm. If warmth is what your looking for, the wall is where you'll find it.

For those of you who like photography, this site offers beautiful black and white stills of people at the Western Wall. This being my favorite:

I bet if there are any bums or homeless people on this forum, they'll appreciate that information a lot.

Because it is the only remaining part of the temple that was destroyed thousands of years ago.

The Israeli government's startling announcement that the Palestinian perpetrators of the (Sept. 9) dual terror attacks in Tsrifin (7 murdered, 30 wounded) and Jerusalem's Caf Hillel (8 murdered, 50 wounded) were both, just six months ago, released from administrative detention in an Israeli prison.
