What Has Happened To TA ????

OK I dont post that much and i dont really ahng out with most of you to often but the times that I have i really enjoyed. But what the hell has been going on lately it seems that certain people have taken it upon themselves to throw insults out at anyone who posts. This used to be one of the better places on the net to have discusses about just about anything especially our scene here in Toronto.

Now it seems as though its some high school bitch fest non stop. I must admit it is pretty sad. I know alot of members on here are of high school age and some are early university, but this scene has never been about hurting others and treating people in bad light. I have been involved with the Toronto Rave and Club scene since 1991. Yes that means 12 years, and I must say what i have been reading and seeing on this board lately really upsets me.

All this negative vibe is what helped to destroy the once amazing scene we had in this city, and continues to hurt our community. If you do not understand what this community is all about (and no its not about partying and drugs its about much more) then maybe you dont belong.

This is just my two cents if you feel the need to pit me down because of it then please do it. Because it will only prove my point.

well said trancekyd....true there may be "some" individuals on the board who dont seem to know the difference between stating your opinion and absolutely tearing into someone for a point of view they may have taken. I personally stay away from all that "crap"...keeps a smile on my face...

I hope this is not directed at myself, this post was in no way menat to be part of the problem. I am trying to get everyone to realize their is a problem and remeber why we got into this community and scene to begin with.

Yes, Brian. TA has gotten lame. We've become the laughing stock of all the forums due to some bad apples. And yet, the mods are more concerned about closing 'bumped' party threads than dealing w/the real problems, since they seem to think all the bickering is humorous. Yeah, it might've been funny months ago, but it's just stupid and old now. I've been visiting the forums less now cuz of it.
Sadly Skipper, Brian isn't a position of authority to do anything about it. Many people have put the others on ignore, and it just doesnt work. It's up to the mods.

- The problem is not just one person, or a few. It's everyone who responds to these dumbass posts...with more of the same. It perpetuates the bickering.
- attention whores want attention. Give it to them by responding to their posts, and they'll continue. Stop, and they'll stop.
- Obviously you cannot convince the trolls/attention whores of anything. So trying to do so makes things worse.

If you can't agree to disagree at this point,then just be quiet. The drama is getting really stale.

The problem with implementing a solution of this nature is that there is always going to be one person that will respond. I can honestly say that ignoring the problematic posters will not work. You can repeat it fity thousand times to ignore them and there will always be a few people responding back. Its a lose/lose situation. The true solution is to get rid of these people once and for all. Anything else will just lead to swells and lulls in fighting on the boards.

Actually, as you probably noticed, I took her off my ignore list since there is no use anyway. Every single one of her posts her quoted five times. There is no use. I want her GONE!

That still doesn't say anything about why you continue to reply to her, slinging around insults like 10 year olds.

Admit it, you enjoy the drama. If you didn't, you would roll your eyes and move on, whether she was on your ignore list or not.

I kind of disagree. I doubt she enjoys the drama. Partyprincess hurts peoples feelings. I've watched this go on for months. She's cruel. You take a cute girl having a good time at a party, someone posts a picture that isn't the MOST flattering picture in the world, and PP tears her up. Insults for days. Its difficult not to respond. I don't even know 99% of these people (I know two) and I get pissed.

But I do agree, we should come up with a solution. It tends to ruin threads.

Granted, not too long ago, I was under the same impressions. Just ignore her and move on. It will NEVER END with her. I always thought that it would be sooner then later that PP gets removed from the board. But this day in never going to come. She will not go away if 95% of the people ignore her. She will go away if 100% of people ignore her (impossible) or if she is involved in fights with 100 different people and is the common denominator in all.

I treat people with the same respect that I get threated with. If she treats me like a person less superior to herself then I will treat her in the same way (hence the insults). She insults me in the way she talks down to me.

*edit* I really don't enjoy the drama. I want it gone for good. I don't want to keep on coming back to TOTA and seeing ten threads gone to shit. I want there to be a final step taken. I'm just trying to speed up the process.

As one of those that partyprincess constantly flames, i have to agree with Marg. I also had her on my ignore list. It didnt work. Even if i ignored her comments and said something totally not relevant to her, shed still flame me. She even went out of her way to PM ME to insult me! (as much as she wants to deny it, its true, its still in my FUCKING PM BOX)

Theres no way were going to get 100% of tranceaddicts to ignore her and quite frankly, I know a lot of people that woont for the sole reason that they find it ENTERTAINING at the moment. And that wont even end...the second they get sick of it, there will be a whole new crowd that sees this and jumps on the flaming paddywagon.

ITS NEVER GOING TO END. SHE NEEDS TO BE BANNED!!!!

forums and ISPs have nothing to do with each other....and its not personal harrasment anyways..theres no legally binding contract that one has to sign that prevents the kind she uses
