Blame Everything on the Jews is a Good Strategy

I had hoped for an end to the PC movement--I guess it's spreading like a wave, globally. Grow some thicker skin people!

Posted by occrider on Sep-12-2003 15:35:

Huh? Middle East Arab States don't like Jews?

Barbie is jewish that news to me. I was assuming that plastic dolls have no nationality.

Posted by TranceGiant on Sep-12-2003 16:33:

I only recently found out about that. When I started dating Malibu Stacy and my Mum told me to leave that "shikse" and get a decent barbie doll

You and me both buddy. It's a scourge that will sadly become a hallmark of our entire generation for years to come. :-/

We are equal, my PC friends, we are not the same.

I don't want to take position on this story, but all of you as westerners can't really understand the cultures and mind frame in those countries. Laughing about this story is one thing, but saying its wrong is another thing.

Don't talk or judge stuff that doesn't apply to your western lifestyle.

Barbies are Jewish? WTF?!?!

Posted by MrSquirrel on Sep-12-2003 23:06:

Ahh..I heard about this on the radio. Nothing new. The vice and virtue police in Iran banned barbie dolls years ago. I read a report that the #1 black market American item in Iran was the Barbie, something like 500,000 of them were sold there for the equivalent of a week's salary.

It is not just a Arab/Muslim thing though. There are many ultra-conservative Christian groups that would do the similar things if they were in power.

BTW Vesa: WTF are "barbie-style clothes"?

MrS

Posted by MrSquirrel on Sep-13-2003 00:30:

Well seeing as I am male and did not move past the phase of "jeans and a t-shirt" being the height of (and only) fashion about 4 years ago I have no clue as to what is cool or not these days.

Do these girls who imitate Barbie get breast augmentations so they can have the large cone-shaped breasts as well?

MrS

fair enough if it was only about the cultural differences, but why bring anti-Jewish sentiments in? I mean..this surely isn't even funny anymore, it's just sick.

Posted by oleshka on Sep-13-2003 05:08:

trivially because this "police" will reach out to the merchants and public alot quicker if they promote the ban of the product as jewish since it is.. well.. saudi arabia! Honestly, this kind of shit sickens me in the worst ways.

well i'm not a barbie expert, but i guess the lady who created the barbie was jewish or something along those lines. Its easier for them to promote the ban when branding something as being "jewish". There's some strong sentiment against jews in the middle east and with a reason, with all the shit happening in Palestine, and the neo-cons practically controlling the USA. Anyways, that's another debate I'm not willing to start.

yes, i can totally understand why you're not willing to continue this debate. You'd only have to admit you made horribly stupid statements

hey buddy, thats how it is over there, it not our little ghey debate on TA that would affect anything, keep that in mind.

We can talk about how things are and what they should be all day long, reality is different and won't change for a while, worst there's nothing on the bright side to help things change.

ahlamalek, the point is you said:

i think what trancegiant is trying to say is that when it comes to something like this, where morality is based and dictated upon racism, then yes we have the right to say this is wrong, even if it is another cultural society.

Posted by malek on Sep-13-2003 20:10:

i don't think its racism, its political. Saudis also don't like Americans, can you say its because of their race? not really.

Posted by Psionic on Sep-13-2003 20:20:

You can say it's because of Western culture, and culture is very similar to religion/race/etc.

Posted by Cyrus King on Sep-13-2003 20:23:

can someone please elaborate on how this is Racist?

Posted by Izzy on Sep-13-2003 22:20:

i really dont think i should be explaining why this is racist. the mear fact that they singled this out as being a 'jewish' toy pretty much narrows it down. now if they said that this toy was morally wrong, or does not fit their society then yes who am i to judge but when along with that they isolate it and say it is also banned becuase it is 'jewish' then yes that is morally disgusting. can you not see my point. what next, ban all jews from entering saudi? oh wait nm that is already in affect.
if anybody thinks that the policies of saudia arabia are not racist, then they should really open up a dictionary and a history book and look at racism

Posted by malek on Sep-13-2003 22:30:

what they say, is that the doll is morally wrong and MOREOVER just to help promote the ban, that it is Jewish.

wait, Christians aren't allowed too in Saudi... but then again, this is the official rules, but in reality, there's Jews and Christians in there.

PS. Barbie dolls Jewish ... WTF ?!? I do know that top Israeli model babes are indeed stunning, but sexiness is about the person, not about the ethnicity.

holy crap man, you have no idea how hot israeli girls are in general!!!

if you ever want to have the most sex with hottest girls ever, go to tel-aviv and go clubbing. Or throw a party in israel and watch how the girlies will flock to you, and the thing is, because there are so many hot girls its common, and they don't have that 'hot chick' attitude like everywhere else...

if you don't believe, check for yaself! and any israeli will either agree, or disagree. Disagreeing because they are obviously either ugly or can't pick up women!!!

Posted by malek on Sep-13-2003 22:33:

let me add something, its easy in these times to hate Americans and Jews in the Middle east. I don't know if you remember the Pepsi / Coke contreversy in Israel/Middle east, at that time hating American products was in vogue , even tho bottlers were the proprety of locals.

same thing, goes for some American hating french, and french products. Its an esay target.

its true.

The morality and mentality of the arabic people is totally different to the point that its not understablable for westerners! He is right!

Good thing i am not a westerner

ahlamalek: even though we probobly have starkly different opinion I can respect your understanding more then I can respect these other 'outsiders'.

and barbie was made by a jewish women, who was polish, who I might add, only created barbie because her daughter was obviously far away from our jewish tradition, and began to get outside influences which is bad for jews, cause as we see from the end of it, she created barbie to reach out to a new sluttier generation!

very sad on the jewish part, because Judaism is not like that at all... so it sounds very bad.
