Legend in country music. He's one of the very few people to be inducted in both the Country-Western Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

he experienced a resurgence the past few years, primarily among the indy-rock and hipster set, as his covers of U2's "one" and Nine Inch Nails' "hurt" became quite successful. The video for Hurt is particularly gut-wrenching...

most of all, the Man in Black will always be known for being an original--in both his music and as a person. He didn't give a fuck what anyone else said or did and he always did his thing.

R.I.P.

Damn, I was just watching his "Hurt" video.

R.I.P. Johnny, I haven't heard much of his music but his cover & video of "Hurt" are excellent.

Country music isn't very big here in europe, believe it or not.

Kinda like you wouldnt expect the americans on a country music website to know who armin is.

I've only heard Johnny Cash a couple of times, but I'm sad to see another great musician go. So many legends have passed away this year

Armin is very big in the electronic world but lets face it, Cash's music has been around for much longer and has been played on radio stations around the world for ages. Anyway, I mean NO disrespect to the person who wrote he does not know who Cash is, I just figured that everyone does. : )

Just a note: I never have list to him but I did know who he was.

Well ive never listened to his music, but i know of him.

Obviously country music is more popular in america but it really isnt here, seriously not even old people listen it I don't think we have any country music radio stations (and i used to have a keen interest in fm radio observation).

Very sad though

Hehe, my sister is pissed at how much more people are remembering Johnny Cash than John Ritter, who also died in the past day. (My sister is a 3's Company nut).

How about doing a search and finding some bios on him?

Ironic how most people will "celebrate" his memory by stealing his music on kazaa etc...

I don't think Johnny would mind if ppl DLed it off Kazaa, since it most likely would make more people discover his music. He doesn't make more money on it anyway now, does he?

Rest well Johnny,

He was one of the few country music artist I liked. There was always just something amazing abotu his delivery.

He did a cover of Soundgarden's Rusty Cage several years ago that is amazing.

He always said he was the voice of those who did not have a voice in music. The downtrodden and overlooked.

He will be missed.

MrS
