Halloween in FL?

Is there anything good going on, or usually goes on, for Halloween, anywhere in Florida ?

How are things in Key West? I've heard about events there.
However, all that I found info for was Fantasy Fest. It seems like most of the events there are for the gay crowd. Is that so? Have I missed anything?

Yo last weekend in Fantasy Fest is far from being a gay crowd, holy shit, you have no idea, so much T & A, u really have no idea, it is one of the biggest multi block radius parties around and it is all weekend long, to be perfectly honest with u, it sure is better then mardi gras, that is more gay, cause the past two years my friends have went and it is mostly guys. Fantasy Fest is a good mis of girls and guys but man the girls and the atmoshpere, wow, gotta check it out!!!

Cool
According to the site, it happens early this year, on Oct 17-26
Has it ever not included Halloween day before? Will it affect turnout?

You GOD DAMN RIGHT! I want to go to VooDoo Fest in New Orleans for Oakenfold, Collins, and Manson. God that would be amazing. But it may not happen. If not I'll be at BT! Can't fucking WAIT!

ok orlando sucks for halloween. terror on church St. is gay, and halloween horror nights at universal is ok for the first 20 minutes, then its just like "ok there is another guy jumping out from behind a corner, whatever." and its mad overpriced. like $40 a ticket and no music.

So far Ive heard that the Halloween horror nights at Universal are good, but if you say so.. I really have no idea of activities, maybe Acosta will be doing that Halloween party.. he was at Opium last year.

Hey!
I live in Orlando and have experienced Terror on Church St and Halloween Horror Nights. I see you are from NYC.. meaning it would be a trip down here---Don't waste your time for anything here in Orlando, its not worth it. I haven't heard of anything too amazing going on for Halloween this year yet so. Fantasy Fest in the Keys is supposedly insane and absolutely outta control. Haven't been down there for it but I hear its pure madness.I've seen pictures and it is kind of like a Mardi Gras type deal where people dress up all crazy in costumes and get completely annihilated. lol
Good Luck !

Eh, unless something is going on in Miami, stay out of Florida (especially Orlando - my hometown...sucks there!)

Do one of these if you can travel for Halloween

New Orleans - I don't know the full details, but apparently something massive is going on in New Orleans at a graveyard or something...with a killer DJ lineup. I'll ask the promoter dude I know if he can give me more details.

Las Vegas - DJ Tiesto @ The House of Blues at Mandalay Bay - presented by Vivid (the porn company) and Spundae

San Francisco - Sander Kleinenberg & The Scumfrog @ Spundae (1015 Folsom) - AWESOME

San Francisco - Hybrid LIVE @ some CoolWorld event (do a number of HUGE events, mainly in SF, but the most popular one is Ultra in Miami)

Seattle - Paul van Dyk @ Freaknight @ Seahawk Stadium

as far as halloween horror nights goes, it takes alot to scare me, so it might be cool for some people. the haunted houses are usually pretty creepy, but you gotta wait like an hour in line for a five minute walk through. and they usually only have like 2 or 3 houses. other than that its just a bunch of guys in masks with chainsaws with no chain, and they just jump out at you revving up those annoying ass chainsaws every 30 seconds. the only thing that is cool is riding the rides at night. but universal ismostly indoors, so it kinda looses the appeal. i think last year they had it at islands of adventure, which has alot of rollercoasters, those would be cool at night. but you are still waiting in long ass lines, and its still alot of money. I dont want to discourage anybody, but for the money i think you can have a hell of alot more fun somewhere else. just my opinion, if anybody does end up going, id be interested to see what they think. ive lived in orlando all my life, so i kinda stay away from the whole tourist thing. but key west sounds cool, a little TA gathering would be alot of fun

Ah yes, VooDoo Festival. Oakenfold, Sandra Collins and Bad Boy Bill are headlining the electronic stage, with countless other DJs from all genres. The Electronic acts look like the lineup for Ultra or something, its amazing this year.

Then, headlining the rock stage is Marilyn Manson. That should say enough right there. I mean, I'm not a big fan of his cds(kids all screaming and shit) but his songs are incredible and GOD...a live set from him...on HALLOWEEN! yeeaah....

But as Radiohead tickets for the 7th are gonna cost me my fucking soul and whats in my wallet, I may not make it all the way to New Orleans less than a month later.

I'd really like there to be some kind of true bad ass warehouse party or something. Some local DJs with maybe a name or 2 and maaad vibe. Ya'll know you miss the warehouse parties, and what better time to have one than halloween. I know with all these promoters and DJs something could happen...anyone feel like making effort? I'll be glad to help if things look possible...anyway, let me know if there is anything underground that night, otherwise I'll be at BT in Orlando...who else is coming?

Thanks for all your input!
I'm working on booking the trip to Key West for the Fantasy Fest.
Gonna be expensive, but I figure I might as well do it while I have the chance.

Anyone else gonna be there?
Any good places or events to hit up, that might not be listed on the Fantasy Fest site?

That Voodoo Fest sounds cool too. If only I had just one more day of vacation time, I could've done both.

BT in Orlando - where?
I see a Tampa show on 10/25 but no orlando, is this still on? If so, I'm there.

Posted by SpykeChyld on Sep-23-2003 23:53:

Last I heard BT had 3 or 4 dates in Florida at the end of October, with a Halloween show in Orlando. Hopefully it hasbn't changed!

Posted by ex-dj on Sep-24-2003 03:34:

Well, I'm looking at this -> http://www.btmusic.com/content_tour.html
A drive to Tampa would be worth it though, being its on a saturday.

Yes, that is where BT is gonna be! On the 93.3 stage or possibly in the Ampitheater night club, not sure yet, but at least there will be some good music to catch too.
I'll be there.
