Is Trance Dead?
im new to the scene, and hear alot about how its supposedly going downhill in quality, and coming out less ad less. i wonder if thats not just ppl growing out of it or what.
what do you think?
If 2003 is anything to go by, then we have a lot more to come, this year has been of a very high calibre.
There is sooo much more to choose from nowdays, might be harder to produce and find quality trance.. but for sure, there is a lot of quality shit out there.
For example, listen to Paul van Dyk's, Tiesto's recent gig's and you'll find a bunch of nice new tunes.. Trance is NOT dead, it's growing....
Whoever said it was dead must have been listening to the charts
Nah trance aint dead by a long shot!
This years releases prove that!
Is it bollocks.
how can u even ask after what we've had so far this year?
No way.
all you need to look at is the way this community has grown over the last 3 (almost 4 years) to know that Trance is truly alive and pumping !
Stop asking the damned question. If you search, people have been asking the same thing for 3 years.
It seems like someone in every genre is always asking this, too.

trance dies every year in the same exact thread
yet still they are asking if it's dead or not and will never stop asking
noobs!!!
imo, if anything trance is making a comeback,(from not going away in the first place), strong. although i also think that trance is different now than it was a few years ago. i find that it's much more bangin, more harder style than the 'cheese' that is related to the genre by most people, more energetic these days, at least from productions this year. also trance is becoming alot more techno influenced as well i think, just look at ferry's last few productions, some of tiesto's re-mixes are even a little teched out, anyways, trance is not goin anywhere, dj's wont stop playin it, because when it all comes down to it, trance owns clubs no matter what ANYONE says, it provides energy, atmosphere, and that's what counts.

Why do so many people comment on trance as a dying genre? Its riduculous, anyone who ACTUALLY listens to trance know that its stronger than ever. Either they failed to realize this in the ton of quality releases or their taste/preference has changed (probably to mainstream/commericial). As a result, they make unfounded comments on the status of trance
i wouldn't say it's dead, just diversifying. So many different styles now compared to the older days.
Goa is trance, progressive trance is trance, nrg is trance, hardstyle is trance, psy-trance is trance, trance breaks is trance, hard trance is trance....
... just because epic trance is losing its glamour among some people, it doesn't mean the whole genre is dying. The sound may be changing, but art's not static
no way is trance dead, but hopefully garage is.
2003 - "The return of Matt Darey", trance is still VERY much alive!

Yes it's true, trance is dead. Now stop posting on this site immediately; you're wasting your time reminiscing a dead musical genre.
