Anjuanabeats Vol 1 Mixed by A&B

Anjunabeats, home to acclaimed trance act Above & Beyond, and their many alter egos, is about to unleash its first album release Anjunabeats Volume One. The compilation collects a spread of the acts label-signed, produced or remixed tracks, including bonus material like Above & Beyonds remixes for Madonna and Japans star Ayumi Hamasaki. Check the track listing and full Anjunabeats commentary below! Release date: 13 October 2003!

Anjunabeats Vol. 1 mixed by Above & Beyond

1. Madonna What It Feels Like For A Girl
The Above & Beyond mix was originally done on spec, but Madonna loved it so much she made the video to our mix instead of the album version, and played it on tour. The mix was supported by everyone from Pete Tong, Jules (8 weeks straight on Radio 1), PVD, Armin, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and playlisted on Kiss & Radio 1.

2. Above & Beyond Far From In Love
The first Above & Beyond single is a world club anthem and still raises the roof at Gatecrasher, Gods Kitchen and Passion. A firm favourite with Judge Jules and Dave Pearce on Radio 1.

3. Tranquility Base Razorfish
Universally supported by PVD, Tiesto, Armin, Ferry Corsten, Dave Pearce, Sasha, John Digweed and Paul Oakenfold, Razorfish is a genuine across the board club classic.

4. Aalto - Rush
Recently signed to Paul Van Dyks Vandit label, this is a gorgeous slice of 21st century trance that has become a firm favourite for PVD (of course), Armin, Ferry, Luke Neville and many more. Aalto is Paavo and Finnish producer Miika Eloranta.

5. Rusch & Murray Epic
One of the labels most recent signings is a track made by two guys who have never met! A web legend for over a year as an unsigned MP3, shot into orbit by a massive Above & Beyond remix that is burning up the club world as we speak. The biggest tune at Gatecrasher right now Matt Hardwick, July 2003.

6. Rollerball Albinoni (Opera Mix)
This is a new, previously unreleased vocal version (currently only being played out by Above & Beyond in their DJ sets) of this classical masterpiece recently signed in instrumental form by EMI to spearhead a worldwide classical dance project.

7. P.O.S. Remember (Summer Sun)
A cult classic from earlier this year, hammered by Paul van Dyk, Armin, Ferry and Tiesto and supported by Dave Pearce at Radio 1, it went straight in at Number One in Gatecrasher and Gods Kitchens charts and is currently Number 7 in the Dutch Dance Chart five months after release! POS is Paavo Olavi Siljamki.

8. OceanLab Sky Falls Down (Armin van Buuren remix)
OceanLab is a project featuring Above & Beyond and trances most popular vocalist Justine Suissa (ex-Chicane and Number One in a recent Trance.nu poll ahead of Jan Johnston) and has become the most respected vocal trance act in the world. Their first three singles all got 5 stars in Mixmag and are still club favourites. Armins remix of Sky Falls Down was his biggest record from last year.

9. Anjunabeats Volume One
The one that started the label, released in 2000 when Jono and Paavo were still at University. Originally supported by Oakenfold, Jules and Pete Tong. Appears here in a slightly cooler, deeper guise.

10. Nitromethane Time To Die
Produced by Tony McGuinness with his brother Liam, this track has grown into a bit of a monster. Originally caned by Armin and Tiesto, it gained a second lease of life when Anjunabeats released it, becoming huge for Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules (6 weeks straight support), Ferry Corsten, Matt Darey and John 00 Fleming. The Seraque mix was described as The best remix of the year by DJ Magazine.

11. Ayu M
Our most demanded, unavailable Above & Beyond remix, done for Japan but loved all over, this is the first time it will have been released in the UK.

12. Matt Hardwick vs Smith & Pledger Day One
Jonos Universitys mates Ollie Smith and Mark Pledger teamed up with gatecrasher resident Matt Hardwick for this lovely instrumental, due for release later this year and helped on its way by a big Above & Beyond remix.

13. Oceanlab Beautiful (Signum mix)
Currently enjoying its 16th successive week in the Singapore pop charts (Yes, its far away, but hey!), this most recent OceanLab single rounds off the album in banging form. A different mix from the one on the recent Gatecrasher album and lovingly supported by Tall Paul, Dave Pearce and, of course, Armin van Buuren.

Nice, Anjunabeats is a top label

I thought it was a bit weird tho that it was called the same name as their first release (Volume One)?

Will buy this for sure.Apart from Epic,Anjunabeats hasn't had a single bad release IMO, and that Opera Mix of Albinoni must be heard

Listening to the promo release right now, sounds like a good album but nothing too special as far as mixing is concerned, all outro-intro. And almost no build-up with all those massive tracks...
7.5/10

I'm kinda with you, I wish they would have put some new mucic on it instead of milking the old stuff.
