To all the local TA's that order vinyl from Chemical

In case anyone in the Western Forum is wondering why their order may be taking a while, i got home from work today to find well over 40 records sitting on my doorstep, on top of my order. All from Chemical Records, mostly for people in the Lower Mainland. Some as far as Toronto though. Anyways, so i thought i'd post here cause i noticed some familiar names i have come acrossed browsing this forum. (Caleb, i recognized your named from here ) Anyways, hopefully the mailman will pick them up and deliver them out tomorrow, but i don't know why they all came to me in the first place.

Yah chemical records is kinda slow (but wicked for recent tracks).... Im not sure why they are slow becuase on their confirmation email it says the records should take 3-10 day to arrive. I ordered some Aug 20th and I got mine Sept 10. It may be that customs holds them for some reason.

I made an order around the same time and it also took close to 3 weeks to get here, even though it wasn't stopped by customs. Normally it takes 3-5 days if it doesn't get held up by customs, and otherwise about 15 days max.

They're generally really good. I've had orders from Chem that arrived in 2 days, others that take 3 weeks. It's pretty variable.

well, i emailed chemical and all they had to say was that it was beyond their control and that because there is a 28 day wait for shipments enforced by the mail service, you must wait that long until filing a report of a lost package. The thing is that as of last month, their shipping company now runs through Sweden or something, so fast shipping from chemical is no more

I ordered a record bag for Sean from dancegrooves, and it came fast and everything.. then a month later I get a bill from customs! Nice, eh? I think I get away without paying extra and bang they drop that on you after. Same thing happened to Sean from onlydjs.. lame. Don't think you're getting away with not paying customs these days!

a few years back, i ordered a CD from german music express, a german company. when i got the CD i didnt need to pay customs or anything because on that little annoying green declaration paper it said that it was a sample CD and therefore not paid for

get whoever your buying from to write USED RECORDS on it or something, thats what I do now and it has worked so far.

Never works for me. Even when I've bought second hand and had it shipped here, I still get charged for customs or taxes on the records. That's with a "Used records" declaration.

If you bought them on eBay or something, just get your seller to mark present on the customs declaration form and then you can't get charged duty.

Ok I think in general the shipping company chem uses is weird, because I just got another shipment today, that only took 4 business days.

I guess its just a game really, customs didn't open it either, which is hella rad!

mine, finally arrived yesterday. Took almost 3 weeks.

I put in an order at only-djs yesterday and they say it's a 2 day order, so it'll be interesting to see if it arrives tomorrow or not. I also put an order in to Chemical yesterday, so will judge their arrival times.
