Software? Remixing?

Hello,

I was wondering what software would I buy if I wanted to start making my own TRACKS and what software would I get it I wanted to do a remix for.. EXAMPLE- PVD- Nothin But You

Right now I have.
Soundforge and AcidPro and Acid Dj. Are there any that you guys use? I just want to make sure I have all the stuff right. Because if your gonna do something like that you might as well have the right stuff.

use the big magical search button

it has mystical powers

...and don't expect to be able to make a superb remix in just a few hours. It takes months of experience!
Not that I want do discourage you from remixing the track, I just wanted to let you know.

?

Maybe it took you months. But if you actually had skill like me it will take about one week.

i want to hear that.

dude, there's like thousands of threads everyday about starting to produce/remix. for some weird reason people think remixing is different from producing. it isn't. you just take an element from the original track and produce your mix around it. you'll need a software sequencer, like Fruity, Reason or even your Acid Pro (though I personally think it's shite)

now, for more info, use the fucking search button.

goin a bit off topic...
i read in some other threads (that i searched for) about remixing that i need the individual parts of the track... if i send a nice ( ) email to the original producer will they send me the parts?? or do they not like to give them out??

Posted by peilo on Sep-20-2003 19:40:

I can probably get ya reason full 3 cd set, wavlab, rebirth add ons and can get a demo version of protools if your interested, though i dont use any of it I still ike to play with them sometimes, can send ya a link from streamload or something and for those that dont use streamload.com check them out u wont be dissapointed unlimited file storage for free for life

probably not. a good place to start would be maybe a recent sasha tune that you liked (if that's your thing). he has samples to all the airdrawndagger songs on his website to download so practice with some of that. but you aren't gonna get samples from producers being someone that is just sitting in their room trying to make a song...

i thought streamload went to pay after like a 100mb? i don't think they changed that policy did they? that was like 6 months ago??

*re reads thread*

Gah, you haven't even made a track/got the correct software, yet you somehow know exactly how long it will take you, and how good it will be...

How smart.

Posted by dbl on Sep-21-2003 11:49:

i'm pretty sure it didn't take me any longer then one week to make my first track.... so nothing wrong with saying that..

ehmm.... did i mention that it sucked more then having your balls blown up??????

i suppose there is your bassline right there hehehe...i should've mentioned that in the other thread hehehe...

Posted by iLLicit on Sep-21-2003 16:52:

yeah, you should have!!!

But the samples are amazing indeed, I think more dj's should organize these contests, or just share their samples with us. You can learn a lot from this I think.

What program did u use for that?

Look, i am not the one that likes to give people bad comment, since i aint that much of a good producer, but these people are right and you aint understanding it very well..

ITS NOT! get the midi open the software, select preset and vola!, you have a remix,

Mine First remix(and only 1 so far) was of MK=s Silverglow, i was very proud at it, but after 1 and a half month learning more about producing i know that track lacks percussion, buildup, structure etc..

its not easy if you never done it, i have been playing with software for 7 months now, and still aint doing a good job, but learning..

Here is a link or mine first remix and hear what i mean http://www.clanwiet.com/boomstambart/remix.mp3

you need winzip though

To answer your question on this thread, best of to start with Fruityloops since thats the easiest software with great quality..

Sorry the you need to ask MK-S i suggest PM him mate, i wont give midi's of other people

But if you want 1 so bad, you can remix mine track, that i made after making the remix

www.clanwiet.com/downloads/fahad.zip

You mite hear clipping if you tunr in real loud, i didnt knew how to remove it at that time, without screwing the volume balance..
if you like it, PM me with your email, then i can mail the MIDI, but maybe you wont like because i got 0 replies on the TA forum about the track Lol

Posted by J.L. on Sep-25-2003 20:06:

IMO, you should be coming up with your own original tunes instead of trying to remix all the time... you will learn a lot more and learn how to be more creative and how to strucutre your track

I would only do a remix if you just totally have it in your mind how you are going to remix the track that is going to sound new and refreshing...

in other words, work on making a couple of your own tracks, then if you have a good idea for a remix, then go for it...

btw, my other post was a joke
