Arrow Ratty aka Scooter remix on Ron Van Den Beuken - Timeless!

Hey!

Just read the trance.nu interview with Ron Van Den Beuken. I was chocked when he mentioned that there will be a "Ratty" remix on Ron Van Den Beuken - Timeless. Ratty is a side project by Scooter.

Taken from the interview:

"T.nu: We heard that, next to the vinyl-release of Timeless, there will also be a CD. Are there any remixes or different versions scheduled to appear on the CD?
Ron: No, the first to be released CD Single will not feature any new versions. Were also busy on doing vocals for it, and there will be a german remix of it.

T.nu: Can we ask who are up for the remix duties?
Ron: Thats the guys from Scooter. They are going to make a Ratty remix from the track.

T.nu: Are there any producers you admire? Or any you want to collaborate with some time?
Ron: Just like I said, the remix were expecting is from the guys behind Scooter. Those are the guys I admire a lot! I think its huge what they do, the quality they always produce. Im very pleased that they are doing the remix.

this guy is an idiot

he admires scooter?!

he studied classical music and yet 'timeless' is one of the most simple "tunes" i've ever heard!

No remix in this world would make this tune listenable.

I guess Ron hasn't been listening to what Scooter has been doing lately.

Sounds like a smart guy with a sound taste in music.

Posted by CygnusX on Sep-20-2003 15:58:

Sounds like Ron is still a trance newbie

Anyways, don't hate me, but this remix could be interesting...

Ratty aren't bad, if you ask me it shows the Scooter are capable of producing decent tunes when they're not trying to make stuff that does well commercially.

What worries me more is he says they're working on vocals for it? For Timeless does he mean? Last thing it needs is vocals.

now lets looks at things

scooter = shit
ratty = pretty good sometimes

original = baaad

there is a chance a 'ratty' remix could be good

Listen to the remix first, then judge it.

And listen to Scooter's album tracks (the instrumental), and not just the commercial single releases.

adding vocals to the track will kill it. you can tell that ron's motive is mostly $$$ as he thinks dowloading mp3s is bad and should be taken care off... and now turning Timeless into a "mega vocal cheese club hit" .

bah! and to think i use to like this track

This is very true...the piano holds the tune just fine, there's no need for vocals. I also really don't think his usual style really allows for much vocals -- there's too much else going on...so much energy already. It'd be a crime to add vocals to this amazing tune.

I'd love to hear a Ferry Corsten remix of this, though. Especially in his more recent style.

I wonder if he realizes how much exposure he received as the result of people spreading mp3s of his own works.

Isn't this also the guy behind Clokx - Clocks? It really, really sounds like his style.

OMG Why is a so talented producer admires scooter!?
A Ratty remix for Timeless will be so pants!
