new local scene info section: ASIA

ok ive noticed that there are specialized sections for cities countries etc etc.. but there is nothing for asia. this kind of surprises me, seeing as that trance parties in goa, thailand, indonesia, singapore and other places are pretty big and i think that this would be appriciated by other users. i dont know maybe there arent many people interested in the party scene in asia on TA, but hey you never know. i am in bangkok and i meet people all the time from europe wanting to know about trance/techno parties, and who knows, if there are enough people on TA who are in asia this would be a great place to exchange party spots. any ideas? thanks

yeah this idea has been brought up before on numerous occasions in the past but in order for a regional forum to be created there must be sufficient demand for it to avoid watering down the forums.

From what I can recall as long as one can find a couple dozen or so active users who are interested then one might be considered. Best thing to do is prolly ask Swamper directly how many is needed ..

I believe a large contingient of Russian TA's once vouched for their own regional forum which extended for over 20 pages but to no avail. Belgium is the newest successful regional forum but they had massive support both within Belgium and from International TA's ..

thanks alot desidel, i can imagine that alot of people have asked for regional forums. i guess i was just surprised that the continent asia didnt have one. i am going to PM swamper now asking if there needs to be a minimum number of people to petition a regional section..

to anyone else reading this- if you want a regional forum for asia, or think that it should have something on TA, please post something

thanks.

yes but a subforum with a mod and 3 people is a bit boring

and what language will be spoken in that sub-forum?

Arent there like 4 languages in china alone?

Then there is Japan, India, Indonesia etc etc...

obviously if asia was allowed a sub forum of some kind, the local languages would be a problem. also there doesnt appear to be any major group of individuals from one area.. i think english would have to be the language of the forum, which i dont think should be a problem. i mean if youre able to manipulate your way around the website now, does it really need a different language?

alot of people in asia travel around frequently enough, and i know that lots of eurpeans come down every year, and i think that this would just be a great place to post questions and hopefully answers and tips for parties, maybe new and upcoming djs in areas, the possibilities are endless

let's face it, Asia is just too big for a regional forum

the sad truth is that out of all the forum members there seem to be a very few number that are actually based out of Asia ..

the key was getting them to sign up when the forums first started back in 2000 because i'm sure by now regional sites have already spawned their own interest groups that they're apart of which makes them less likely to sign up on TA without some type of site push in that market..
