Looks nice
gonna download it as soon as my f****n broadband starts to work again. Just curious, have you mixed it with CD or vinyl?
c-ya later for some feed back
Downloading it right now...pretty fast speeds too!! look like a good mix!!
just got it...REALLY REALLY Good man! nice job...what do u use to mix your MP3s with??
thanks guys!

I use vinyl, except for some tracks that I couldn't get a copy of, yet. Like Stargazers and Future Breeze...
Yeah the mix is fast, that's part of my style, hehe. Good for driving your car to it
.
Oh, and I use Traktor for the MP3s that are in the set. Been using AtomixMp3 before, but it sounds like crap! (started a thread about this in the DJ forum)
ok, if you dl-ed the set, please give me some feedback. Tell me what tracks you like and which not, if you think some transition sucks or rocks.....
If you didn't dl, I really recommend this set if you like the sound of Gary D, Cosmic Gate, Tunnel Trance Force and the other hard trance stuff.
Have a nice weekend
!
ok...finally I had some time to listen to the whole set
it's an amazing set, I like the track selection, speed and mixing, especially the transition at 2.25min is simply amazing...nice job!
just one thing...I didn't like the transition at 16.38min that much...it's too fast and disharmonic imho

. By "fast" do you mean the transition is too short?
comments are always welcome.
Getting it slowly down on a 56K.
How long is it going to be available for?
- A.
at least 3 weeks, so take your time

Dude...the mix dlded pretty fast !!
I like the hi bpm too...but there seems to be some loss of volume in ur mix...i mean i have to play ur mix at almost twice the volume than my other mp3s.
But its cool...jus increase the vol and record next time...the option's there in traktor.
Otherwise excellent mixing man...did u mix live ?
AndiH...one technical question...with shadow down...where did u get those mp3s on ur sig ?
thanks denser.
about that volume problem, that is very strange. Quality is very important to me. I cannot increase the record volume in traktor, cause this set is mostly vinyl, dude.
I recorded to my harddrive with wavelab and then had the level normalized to -1 db before encoding with lame 3.88
That should give you the loudest volume possible, as you will have more clipping when you normalize to 0db. Your the first who noticed something like this, btw.
I just listened to that mp3 and compared it to the Marco V set (Mysteryland) and I didn't notice any difference.
Oh, and David Forbes was in the last Shadowzone update before they went on vacation....

djdawn, I finally got to listen to your mix, I now have a cable modem so this one was fast for me
I liked it, although probably a little less than the previous ones.
If I were you I'd start the set with something a little more exciting, like #3 with its synth-energy. I'm sorry but the first track just doesn't give you that initial energy rush. Also I noticed you included Ralphie B - Massive; personally I don't think too much of this tune, although everybody here seems to like it
The best ones for me were #3, #4, and "Daydream." "Communication" is a classic.
Regarding the transition at 16:12, I actually think it's fine, but I suggest that someday you try mixing "Daydream" after Moni B - Stripped. These two songs have exactly the same kind of female vocals (maybe the songwriters used the same filters/effects), and as "Stripped" ends ("let's get away... stripped...") "Daydream" begins ("Daydream... daydream..."), it can be just like one song. You can try that and let me know what happens.
Some of the transitions I didn't like because, despite the same BPM, one song feels faster than the other one due to hats/cymbals. These are in the "middle" between kick and snare, and they give you that "utz-utz-utz" sound
. If one song has very prominent, loud hats, and the other one doesn't, it will feel like there's a difference in tempo, even though there isn't.
An example: Pulsedriver - Cambodia has almost NO hats, it's just simple kick-snare, whereas Madonna - What It Feels Like for a Girl (Above&Beyond Mix) has very strong, loud hats. I bet if you tried to mix these two at the same BPM, the transition would be pretty bad.
Well, good luck! Thanks for the mix!
great set Dawn keep up the good work bro! cant wait for the next one

I just finished listening to it...
gotta say i like ur style.. hard and fast....
i reaally love ur track selection from tracks 14 to the end... typicall dj scott style.. hard and HARD.haha.
i like it cuz i havent heard many of these tracks.. its nice to hear stuff i havent heard b4.. and oh ya.. i personally love ending mixes with melodic tracks. and u did just that with armin's communication.... goood work man.

god DAMN, your track selection kicks ass
Did you mix this from beginning to end on the tables with no editing? If you did, I'm impressed because that's some pretty fast mixing. I can only get about 10 mixes in on a set that long, and you managed 19!

"I don't get it how people make 76 minute mixes with just 9-12 tracks. That means before listening to the mix I know they are mostly mixing intros and outros (where there are only beats). Takes a lot of energy out of the mix and makes mixing boring and too easy. You can have AtomixMP3 do that for you. Don't even need to crossfade... "
I'd have to disagree. When I listen to a mix, I want to hear the whole song, there's a reason why it was composed that way. I get really mad when I hear a mix, and there's this amazing song in it, but I only get to hear 128 measures of it. What a buzzkill.
I'm not saying your method is wrong, you just prefer something different.
