HL2 delayed

The previously announced September 30th release date for Half-Life 2 is being pushed back. We are currently targeting a holiday release, but do not have a specific "in-store" date to share at this time. We will release that information as soon as we have confirmed a new date. (link)

my friend and i was thinking about this today when we went to EB... since no gold annoucement has been made, yet a rls date of sept 30th? WTF

Oh well, my 8500 will live for a little longer

November release is what im hearing.

Valves marketing strategy will no doubt push it for a xmas release, even if it is completed and ready to ship atm. Wudnt you rather get it as a gift, rather than fork out 4 it yourself.

STEAM IS A PIECE OF SHIT, and somehow they dont realize it.

See what did I say I told you that I got the information over the summer.. Vivendi Publishers even themselves said it was going to be delayed.. and I trust the publishers because they are the ones that control the product when it should arrive and what not. It should arrive around november my sources say nove 19th.. around that time.. I suggest you pre order your shit all at ebgames because they are more accurate then any other gaming store.

They do realize it, thats why they are updating it make it better.. Thats why all the complaints from you and the other folks goes to them so they can improve on it.. They get more then thousands of email of the same complaint each day.. They know exactly what people are thinking and they are trying to fix it fast.. There is always patience. If you don't have patience then you'll always have a grudge on small shit like this.

Anyways.. Rome wasn't built in a day so neither will this.. If you uninstalled steam already, they have just updated it recently to fix the freezing and loading of the bugs for the new 1.6. Now its much faster and just like it should be. You ever try playing a chess game while your dead on cs I think that makes it more intersting too because you can play chess while with your buddies. There are other games on it I forgot what they were.. there were probably 6 board games.
If you hate steam because of cs don't blame steam because valve did not make cs. If you want to complain on then go talk to gooseman the creator. Steam is just to incorporate all games from valve to one so you don't have to keep on going to the site and updating it or getting lost. They are trying to make it simple for you guys.. IF you hate simple then don't use it. This is the simplest software I have ever used.. its a hassle to figure out you can't join a stupid server cuz you don't have the same version and you w*oul dhave to goto the site and update. Steam does it for you already.. you don't have to wait, it does it automatically. There is no line at all.

Yea, I just got an email from IGN about its delay.

I, for one, am glad because this gives me more time to save up for a new comp.

Why dont you just go and work on a game for 4 years yourself, and create your own engine that will be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Oh and while your at it, create levels, textures, models, skins, animations, bad guys, good guys, voices, sounds, and weapons. Dont forget keep your mod developers on the cutting edge so they can have polished add ons available shortly after release.

You have zero idea what kind of effort and and time a project this gigantic takes. I think having to wait another month or two for a game this fantastic is more than worth it. Wouldnt you rather have a completely solid, finished product that one that was rushed?

Well I already knew that, I talked to a guy at EB last sunday who said November 15. I still think thats their "holiday date." EB (and other retailers) would probably be the first to know, because theyre the ones who get the shipments of the game weeks in advance in preperation for all the pre-orders and shelf stockings.

woops.. I was just quoting you on this part when you said no news.. and that site was official news and they even had that news over the summer.. it came straight from vivendi..
