Question groovetech.com gone?

site has completely disappeared, anyone know what's up?

my apologies if this has been posted and I've missed the thread.

I heard that it went out of business very recently. I'm kinda bummed out, I bought some of my first records from there.

I know! I placed a decent number of orders through them, but I really loved their site for all the audio clips. damn, only planetxusa.com and satelliterecords.com left now!

Yeah , I've been wondering this too, but I do know that in august they tried to liquidate alot of their stock, so go figure.

i'm not surprided they never had anything in stock.

good audio clips

but nuloop is better for audio clips, if your into house, techno and electro

I'm guessing there are many more sites w/ audio clips, but groovetech had lots for rare records they no longer had in stock. it was nice to hear Auranaut's "People Want To Be Needed" for a min or so while I was at work. they also had pics of nearly every record, something lots of sites lack.

what other sites carry lots of audio clips for records they no longer carry, besides www.planetxusa.com (gotta log in to get the clips though) and www.satelliterecords.com?

Thats a shame...I bought 40% (89 vinyls) of my current collection from them. Great place, great shipping...I'll miss them.

My fave site for this is http://www.dancerecords.com. They even have a nice play all feature that lets you play samples from a lot of tracks one right after another. It makes a nice little radio substitute.

been to the site many times, though I've never liked their search engine. it always seems to miss releases, or brings back way too many hits. maybe they've improved it?

only thing I don't like about dancerecords.com is that they neer seem to have any sales. I'm so pissed groovetech is gone though, I bought my very first vinyl there.

Actually, not sure if this is true or not, but my brother (another dj) heard from one of his friends that they were might be opening back up at the end of November. I hope so, cuz I'll spend all my Christmas money there!

Posted by VIO on Nov-12-2003 20:44:

groovetech was always at least 2-6 weeks behind on releases though.

I orded lots of records from groovetech, their site was the best I've seen. I really liked thier wishlist, charts and search. I haven't ordered anything from an online store since they dissapeard, are there any other sites out there that compare?

I really hope they are opening up again (altho it will cause me to spend more money)
