How to create a Ralphie B/ Midway effect

I've got a question relating to a certain sound/effect.
I'm trying to produce an effect, that sounds like the
typical Ralphie B/Midway effect. To let you know, what I'm
talking about, I can say, it is the effect, that Ralphie used in his Midway Remix of Solarstone's "Solarcoaster"
around 0:31 min and which repeats quite often.
Does anyone know, how to create such an effect?
Is rebirth the right program to create it?
I urgently need some help

Thanks in advance,
Marc

Mmmmm... the elusive acid squelch (thats what I call it).

I've been trying to make this kinda effect for 2 years now, and I still havent the foggiest

Any legit producers wanna point us in the right direction?

Cool

i think u mean the acid 303 type sounds...

a quick way of doing this is 2 oscillators, 1 sawtooth, 1 round sawtooth, high res, lo frequency but mess about with it. add some delay and make sure the notes are in key

What he said; I've successfully made a few of these and can post a tutorial on it later this week.

High Resonance with a Saw, tweaking the Cutoff as you go along. It's not difficult to get the same sort of sound, the difficult part is making it sound really cool like he does =P

For those of you with the z3ta+, the very first preset can achieve this quite easily with correct filtering and tweaking.

That's from playing around with the z3ta+ VST plugin, very first preset. I can't really write a tutorial because I'm not doing anything other than playing with the cutoff =P

I'll try to recreate this effect with a free VST instrument.
