WTF is happening to my vinyl?
Its weird, they are skipping, but upon furter examination, they have to psycial damage, no scrathes, no pit marks, no dust, no finger prints, nothing to make it skip, but it does, in the same spot everytime. Ive tried 4 other differnt turntables, adjusted the antiskip, and it still does it in the same place everytime. I dont abuse my vinyl, I take good care of it, and all the sudden this just started happening. Heres my setup : Numark TTX-1's, STanton grovemaster II's (the balck ones), djm-600 (i know that has nothing to do with but, Id figure id put it in there).
I can actually see the whole cartridge move when it does it, its amost like it jumps up, its freggin pissin me off, cuz thease are some good vinyls. And it has to do it right in the beginning of the vinyl too where i cant mix with it now. Its also stareted appearing on other vinyls too, but more towards the middle. I dont know whats going on, hopefully there is a solution to this, so i can get thease vinyls working again
.
2slow
whz the artist & ttle on that vinly??
hmm maybe put more weight 2 the front ?
weight, anti skate, stylus, turntable at an angle...could be those...
clean your records thoroughly- you cant always see the crap that makes them skip.
I have a vynl that does that also... No scratches or anything. I watched it and the cart starts shaking violently and looks like it gets thrown forward on the track. Same spot everytime.
i took it back to the store and made the salesman watch it, and it didn't do it. basically made a fool of myself, but im using default technics carts and needles. Only on this one record though. At least i know it doesn't do it on different carts.
Perhaps you placed them one on top of each other and they got warped?
Sure it hasnt started to wear down?
If you have played that one vinyl 10000 times its bound to start
dropping off.
Try different carts
Always store you vinyl vertical .. not horizontal
