yay when i'm in the mood for some seriously cheezely trance, Johan is always who i turn to - his weekly radio show never fails to satisfy my hankering for really over the top euphoric cheese.......i can't handle listening to him every day, but it'll definitely be great to see him in the flesh at least once

he is so freaky lookin tho *lol*

w000t

sensation 2003 was a storming gielen set and i prefered it to armins and marco V's, especially when the big bass of eye of tiger kicked in : was a mint set. Also u could argue that Gielens 2002 TE set was the best of the year. So if u dont like the so called cheese kind fuck off, cause no matter what he plays i gonna be dancing!

As everybody knows, I'm strongly against my cheese and I do in fact love Johan Gielen. His sets on "Lift Off" are always awesome and most of the time, with the exception of a few of the tunes he plays eg. eye of the tiger and Yomanda "You're free" his a great dj who knows how to work the crowd to a tee.

Can't wait, Johan Gielen rocks my socks and maybe jocks!!!!!!!!

imo Gielen is an exceptional producer. So much quality work, with tracks like Velvet Moods, Airscape remix of Silence, S&G remix of Dreaming Of You, Twisted, L'esperanza, and recent remix of After All... he is very talented in the studio. As far as DJing goes (and this is not nearly as important as his production) I have heard some downright shocking sets from him. Generally not well-structured, pulling the most conflicting tracklistings out his arse, not to mention more than he fair share of galloping and trainwrecks. Admittedly I haven't indulged myself in any of his sets recently, I guess because first impressions last. Any recommendations? I'll be interested in feedback on his set at Kryal in the near future.

well thats sad rem cos my first impression of gielens dj'ing prowess was from TE 2002. the tunes in that set are sweet nuts and i didnt care too much to harp on the flaws, perhaps you could just focus more on the songs themselves or perhaps you could not. it's up to you, you know what you feel.

i dunno what i meant either

marco's Sensation set was the one that did it for me most...but Johan's came a close second - i think i'm the only one who thought armin's was pretty average!!

his radio show is a bit easier to listen to than armin's too.....not the music, but the talking - I can't understand much of either of em (seein as how i ain't dutch!), but at least johan always talks really clearly - i can always understand track names when he says em.....can't say the same for armin tho

oh god yes - that goes without sayin!! marco v's show rocks too (In Charge) - I'm sure u've heard it......he doesn't talk tho - he just plays for 2 hours....i get the feelin he's a man of very few words....hehehe.... Lucien Foort's new show is pretty darn good too.....mmm ID&T sure has some gold one thing always drives me nuts tho - i wanna know what the ID&T guy looks like!!!! The one who does the funky lil station calls......his voice rocks - but I bet he's probably some balding old geezer or sumthin *lol*

prize to the person who can find me a pic of the ID&T guy
