Lately I've been noticing that my copy of RealPlayer (which is relatively recent) launches advertisements and annoying windows just fine, but when I try to browse music at satelliterecords.com or planetxusa.com, it freezes almost every time. Does anybody else have this problem? Is there any other audio player I can use so I don't have to use this piece'o'shit player?

is the format for satellite and planet x .rm format? if its not, then all you have to do is set windows media player to be default player for all music formats. Got into the main settings or preferences. Or you can do it the other way around, and disable Real Player from being default stream player for different stream formats available.

Gah, I hate how most record places stream samples in RealAudio format. RealAudio has to be the most annoying, bloated piece of shit around!
