Old Tiesto Vs. New Tiesto

I was wondering whether ppl here prefer the old tiesto style sets i.e A lot of Uplifting Melodies with Vocals 1998- late 2001 or do ppl here prefer the new tiesto style i.e a lot of banging tunes, tech-trance , hard trance and techno. 2002-2003 !

I think that the old tiesto was much better, i used to enjoy tiesto's sets in the past but nowadays i dont go to tiesto parties because i know i will be dissapointed !

I wonder what u think about this issue .........

Cheers

Roy

I'd say probably his older stuff, even though I don't care for vocal tunes. I still like his newer stuff a lot though. It's interesting. So I guess his older side only wins by a slight margin.

cant vote, i love both time periods, his productions back then were fitting for the era, and his productions now are fitting for the taste of a majority of the scene now. Ive always enjoyed the hard sides to trance as well, but tiesto in the older days released many timeless works but in the same light barbers adagio for strings (tiesto mix) is breath taking and i enjoy traffic as well.

Old tiesto. However, just think of old trance to new trance.... there is nothing like those good old golden trance years. Quality of trance was just better.

Old Tiesto all the way..

New Tisto

It seems like I'm the only one for the new Tisto so far However, he did some great things in the past (Magik 6, ISOS 2) but his style is so diverse nowadays and IMO that's great. Diversity in your sets is the key to succes.

I'd rather listen to two hours of Tisto stuffed with trance, techno, prog and breaks than listen to two hours full of epic uplifting stuff. That's too boring for me.

(BTW: I'm not saying his sets in the past were trance only, but compared to his style today, he plays much more genres)

I couldn't decide. The Tiesto from back in 99 owned, but the tiesto in the summers of 02 & 03 have owned. Also his productions have been great during these summers imo.

hard to say, differnt quallities

even though he's becoming quite commercial nowadays, i just got some old magik cd's to become very disapointed it was supposed to be the best thing ever.. but.. it's just a few anthems after anthems.

so, tech-trance all the way. new tiesto.

Old, he gave a rat's ass when he mixed.

I prefer the old tiesto yes but all hes doing is moving with the times and clubland in general. trance isnt what is used to be, so hes experimenting bringing it into new phases. this time last year he was utter shite but hes gone back trancey and its all good! you cant not listen to him in concert and be amazed !

King

Definately New Tiesto...Old tiesto had good stuff but the mixes are awesome..

I think Tiesto is definetly going in the wrong direction recently. He has totaly lost the touch take a look at Traffic.. worst track he has ever done sounds like Hi-gate, somethings definetly wrong when you make a tune Judge Jules would cane.

Nothing beats old Tiesto.

I too love Tiesto's older period.
But, I saw him live 2 weeks ago, and he just played great Trance music!
Just anthem after anthem, it started with Red Pill Blue Pill,
Then David Forbes - Answers, he also dropped Iio - Smooth [Airbase Remix], ATRC [SS Remix], Traffic, Flight 643, Timeless, Mark Norman - Stream, Basic Dawn - Pure Thrust [Nu NRG Remix], Delerium - Silence, and his new remix for William Orbit.

Anyway it was awesome, but I still vote for his older stuff.
