My reviews of Friday night

Well here we go..Friday, a busy night, Max Graham Shine Round 2

Well......my original plan was to hit up both.
this backfired when the people in Calgary who should have got me GL for ANY Gold Club show(considering the work I did for them) fell thru...so onto the backup plan of 8 hours with Max.

So I head off to System. I get in line around 11:30(Im on Max and Lisas guest list) and after waiting 20 or so minutes in line, I get to the front(just before midnight) and ba bam..apparently my ID isnt good enuf. (I am 22) so here I am, a guy whos worked hard to promote Max in the past(in calgary, let me guess, 5 or 6 times) and who has been to System before(TA Invasion) and my Alberta ID is no longer good enough. Bull shit. Im an Alberta resident, my provincal drivers liscence should be good enuf.

so here it is, 12:40, and Im back in rez, being all bitter jaded and pissed off. Hating Toronto, and the prick of a bouncer I dealt with tonight.

oh wait, there is no up side.

hope all the parties sucked so taht I missed nothing.
but at the same time, I hope you had fun at those suckie parties.

Im so pissed I think I wont even go to Lee Burridge or Entrance tomorow night. I hate Toronto right now(so far Ive liked it).

ps I saw you Erika. You walked right by me, and past all the lines. lucky you.

I got a stamp to go out and go back in , but it washed off. I thought it was only $15 to get in so I wasn't really worried about it. So I get to the door and I hand the girl a $20 and she gives me a ticket. I say
"Oh, I thought it was supposed to be $15 for guestlist?"
"Cover's $30 *points to sign*"
"Yea, but I'm on the guestlist."
"Go talk to the bouncer up there."
*walks upstairs*
"I'm on the guestlist, isn't it supposed to be $15?"
"Here's a pass."
*walks back downstairs*
*hands the girl a $20 and the pass*
"$25 please"
"?!"
"You were being an asshole so it's $25 for assholes."

At this point I was way to drunk to aruge with her, so I just gave her the money and went in.

*sighs* Woulda been better if it ended with: *useless bitch gets knocked out and I walk on in towards a bangin' set*, but I understand the legal implications involved.

Lesson #1: This isn't Calgary - so Calgary hook-ups are unreliable. Get Toronto hook-ups.

Legally in Ontario it isn't enough. SystemS isn't going to loose their license just so you can get in.

Lesson #2: Proper credentials are required (in Ontario this means: Canadian Passport, Military ID, Ontario Drivers License [health card is NOT legal]).

Dood, in all seriousness - you gotta relax! I'm scared for your blood pressure! Be more positive!!!

I know that it's uncomfortable moving to Toronto from Calgary (I did it as well [way back when]) and being uprooted at a time of your life when you just want to be rooted with the friends you've known your whole life - but honestly - the only way you're going to stay sane is if you just realize that TO is NOT Calgary and just accept it. Comparing the two cities doesn't make sense. Maybe this doesn't apply to you - but it sure did to me when I moved to TO from out west.

So my advice: try to have a postive outlook that you're in TO, doing school, when schools over you'll go back to Calgary and be with you friends. Everybody has to drive across the rockies to get to the pacific... Know what I mean? It's only temporary (if you choose) so try to make the best of it.

Lastly - TOTA is a good home to have while you're in TO. We all get along well, and we all care about each other - plus it's a good support structure.

So chipper up, come out tonight to en:trace (good party!) and I can guarantee things won't be as stressful.

Nobody here knows my dry sense of humour. So when I thought what I was sayign was funny, you guys probably think its insulting. my bad on that one.

really, its one night. Yea, it should have been a good night, but in the end, Im actually more glad I came home.
-->onto 5 minutes after I posted my mock 'review'. A knock on my door. Its a girl from Down the hall. she asks to come in. she wants to talk. Until an hour earlier she was a virgin. shes not anymore. she didnt say yes. some guy named James 'raped' her(almost date rape, Im not quite sure what to call it, they made out, she didnt want to go farther, he did anyways)
I was the only sober person around on the floor. and for her sake, im glad I was around.
and now we go off to the clinic, just to be on the safe side.

I do hope everybody had fun last night tho.
and I dont have a passport here(and it wont be coming), I wont be getting an Ontario liscence, seeing as Im not a resident.
so i guess everynight will be hit and miss as to if I can get in or not.

and after re reading what I wrote, it does come off overly harsh. whoops.

anyways, my friday sucked, but it wasnt as bad as some peoples.

maybe ill be at enTrance. probably not, too much school.

ok ok. Im opening the thread for one more comment, just an afterthought I guess. Ive figured out why nothign worked out this weekend.

I did what you should never do, and Karma came back and got me.

In a desperate attempt to brighten up my walls in Rez, I posted the Flyers for Theory, Shine and Lee Burridge on my walls. SOMETHING YOU NEVER DO UNTIL AFTER THE PARTY!!! the party gods obviously became angry with me, and decided that it was not to be my night.

I cant believe I broke this rule(it actually is a rule to me!) Bad Jason.
Sorry to everybody for endangering your nights. Last time, Digweed got and ear infection(last time a flyer went up before the party), others have been outright cancelled. I guess I/you guys got lucky.

*NB*moments ago, I took the Armin/PvD flyer down off my wall. I CANT curse that night, my girlfriend is coming to town from Calgary for me and the parties(YAYA!!!)

Sounds more to me like poor planning than Karma, but if following the proper feng shui will help you to organize things better, then go for it. Just remember that you need to get an Ontario ID, and it would probably be a good idea to stop relying on Calgary hookups while you're in TO...

it was the party gods taking revenge for putting flyers up before the party!

lol man tough luck. Entrance 3 was awesome though, should've came if you didn't. (don't remember seeing you there). As for the driver's license thing, too many people here have tried using "fake" out of the province driver's licenses so that's probably why they don't accept them around much. As for getting in places? Get a passport...done and done.
