Finally

We'll peoples, I finally got my decks.

Made the purchase two nights ago.

Got a pair of 1200's Technics and a numark mixer with effects. Got a sweet ass deal too.

Now i'm in pre-session. Learning all the bizz.

Oh yeah, GGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOO Brisbane.....

hahaha good on ya buddy i need to invest in another CDJ as having 2 decks and one CDJ is getting annoying as still have to rely on the vinyl which costs a fortune in australia..

when i was in brissy, i saw an ad for the mixer i have, but the next model up, with a built in fx unit, for CHEAPER than what my 2channel goes for down here in sydney!!!! Im thinking of selling it, and getting a friend up their to buy it and ship it down here

As a matter of interest what sorta amount did you pay, I'm looking at getting decks and a mixer very soon, like in the next month or so and need to see if there are some decent prices around.

and i dunno about anyone else but my vinyl addiction kicked in waaaay before i got my decks.

Current status:
$850+ of unplayed vinyl (by me anyway, a couple of second hand records in there), no decks. You could say the vinyl addiction is just a tad there. Might be able to get to a mate's place tonight / tomorrow for a bit though

Congrats mate.

I got an old Technics belt driven table for $60 the other week. With a new SHURE Cart and new belt i'll end up costing me over $220

But surely when I get enough dough i'll be up for at least an SL1200

And then there's the vinyl.

dont u even have an old school turntable or anything? i play my stuff on my dads old stereo. and if you want to listen to it you should be able to find a used turntable pretty cheap, nothing special to just to listen with.

Nup, absolutely nothing, I'll have decks soon hopefully. I've been looking at getting a pair of numark TTX1s as they look damn sweet, but prices in Aus are pretty damn high so I'm thinking about shipping from the states and saving around $500 or so on the pair (after shipping etc.)

I did get to a mates place last night and got to play for several hours on a pair of old belt driven decks. They're pretty damn touchy compared to other decks I've played on, but I eventually got the feel for it on and off. It feels damn good to finally hear the stuff I've got that I listened to briefly in the shop, but didn't realize was so good until now.
