Intersting to look!

There's a lot of footage of Tiesto's studio in Another Day At The Office.

How do you ever come to learn how to use all that equipment?! Seeing all that stuff really makes me appreciate the music more. Anybody can write lyrics..it takes true talant to use all that equipment and make a great song.

Not to mention how expensive it would be to purchase all the equipment.

Rock, etc, is a lot more than lyrics, though. You see a lot of that same equipment in major studios for mastering purposes. I guess the difference would be that they're usually manned by professional sound technicians while the artists whose studios are shown above do a majority of it on their own.

Posted by Evil_Gnome on Sep-27-2003 18:15:

Yeah, every genre of music uses equipment like this, but the artits themselves dont usually use them. For electonrica, that equipment is how the artits make their living. It makes me apprecaite the music even more!

Wow, great thread man. Very interesting to see all that crazy equipment. I wonder how much are the prices for all those pieces. That long piece of equipment in Junkie XLs studio looks complex like no other. Solar Stone's studio looks like his own bedroom, but Robert Miles' studio looks pure class and bling bling.

I 100% completely....disagree. A song with lyrics requires skill on both parts...good lyrics lead the listener, while a professional production makes it sound listenable.
There are some songs that have excellent production value but ass lyrics, and vice versa. It's the tracks that shine on both ends that really stand out.

I did not mean it like that...I know that it takes talant and is hard to right good lyrics. I am just saying that anybody can make them. You cant just walk into a studio and make a trance track.

Chicane:

Posted by Evil_Gnome on Sep-27-2003 21:16:

I figured chicanes would be very "plain" in a sense. Nothing too fancy, just nice and laid back.

Yes, just like their music

I wonder what kind of studio the Thrillseekers have, probably something similar.
