Soldier must pay for his trip home

There are troops coming home for R & R, finally�but it isn�t widely known that they will have to pay for their own travel! One troop�s family had to pay $1,200 to get him home for two weeks!

All those billions spent so far sure did a great job supporting our troops! not only are they asking family members to send water, A/C units, kevlar, and now this?

Yeah, that does kind of suck for them. I think it's because it's a discretionary trip he can opt to take, and therefore has to pay for it. If it were the regular end of his tour, of course the military would be paying for his transportation home. I can understand why the family is upset, but in the same breath, I can understand why the soldier must pay his own way.

If i was on leave id goto Goa, India and chill with the hippies who drop outa society. Oh and of course hit up all the goa parties.
