Posted by Ian on Oct-01-2003 23:29:

dude, that's sick, glad you're ok though, hopefully u get some sorta insurance for it, maybe sue them for putting a bend there in the first place

Posted by DjDeComp on Oct-02-2003 04:28:

Thats sucks man.
maybe in the next 10 years they will have autopilot

Posted by Coup on Oct-02-2003 06:00:

if you hadnet bought an immitation astra than maybe this wouldnt have happened

Posted by Me on Oct-02-2003 07:30:

Heh, was it an Astra?

Posted by sykadelik on Oct-02-2003 08:28:

Cheers guys. It was a Daewoo Nexia, which looks like an astra as coup never ceases to remind me I am still holding out a bit of hope that it isn't a writeoff, as I only put it through its MOT last week. Ah well its a good character building exercise i spose

Posted by Ste on Oct-02-2003 09:47:

damn, and you're still alive...

hehehe

Posted by Rick D on Oct-02-2003 10:10:

shit dude, sorry to hear it, you ok though yeah. I think I'd probably cry if I staked my car, it's my life ATM, couldn't be without it

However, i do agree with coup, if you had have bought a car that didn't have dogs legs for suspension, (they eat the rest of the dog in korea, so need some use for the bones) it probably would have handled a lot better and wouldn't have crashed

Also, it was VERY irresponsible of you going round corners at 50 mph, i never drive that fast, only on my own private race track *cough* A316 *cough*

Posted by Martin McG on Oct-02-2003 10:18:

gutted man!

could be worse though, least your fine

Posted by tu_face on Oct-02-2003 11:39:

u gotta see the funny side.. u crashed because u sneezed

glad ur not dead tho, that would be wank

my mate stacked his Ibiza on the A316

he was going 70 and he went over that railway bridge near whitton/twickenham, and as he went over the bridge, he was about 50 metres from a fucking traffic jam and braked, lost control went into a back of a transit bounced off it and scraped a Boxster

its well annoying when you're sneezing when you drive, or when you get something in your eye, cos then you can's see and shit your pants. Whats the damage like and what was the car worth when u bought it and i'll tell u if the insurance company will pay out or not

oh and glad ur not dead

:

Front and rear bumpers are fadged, left indicator side light is busted, front left lights smashed, front right seemed to be pushed in, gearbox wasn't very responsive, radiator looked like it was a bit lower than normal, other than that the boywork is fine. Oh and when I was driving it round this field trying to find a gate out there was a smell of burning wires. So I may have a nice car audio system for sale depending on the outcome of this

Posted by dj_mdma on Oct-02-2003 12:48:

depending on ur insurance policy...

you;re looking at new front and rear bumpers
2 new headlights
new side indicator
don't worry about the radiator and gearbox.

be about 1000+ depending on part and labour prices...
headlights (on my car) are 65 each, side indicator will be about a tenner, it is OEM bumpers and labour that'll squeeze ya. You could always persuade the company to give u the money instead cos it will be much cheaper for you

Posted by flystyler on Oct-02-2003 15:39:

Shit, i also have a cold, and was thinkin about wot would happen if i had a sneezin fit, now i know the answer :s

Glad yr alright though mate

Posted by DJ M.G on Oct-02-2003 15:51:

Glad ur ok mate,
when you sneeze you can never keep your fucking eyes open,
if you try keeping them open your head explodes!

few yrs back my mate wrote off his brand new peugeot 206
by going 65 mph through a country lane on the way to weymouth he was going round a
slight bend, and hit a bump and flew over a 6 foot hedge his car rotated in the air and rolled and stacked a few yards in a field
he got out with not a scratch on him and so did the passenger!
stupid twat!

Posted by George Kendall on Oct-02-2003 16:43:
