It was when he dropped some great classics that did it for me -

Binary Finary - 1998
Solarstone - Seven Cities

Was Chicane - Saltwater played? I was outside for a sec and thought I heard it???

Oh yeah, who was the guy I was talking to who tried to bet me that Armin would close with Burned With Desire?

I know he was trying to keep a playlist (while drunk )

Best night of my life I cant even put into words how i felt when he let us into the booth when he dropped our track! Just seeing everyone going nuts to it and screaming...awesome! Thanks armin!

New(er) remixes of old tunes
He also played Blue Fear - wasn't that the first single he released?

I didn't hear Saltwater.

Too bad he didn't play the As The Rush Comes to Amazon bootleg that he played on his show once.

I thought his mixing wasn't great but everything else was. Especially the lasers. Too bad that when you're in the front watching Armin, you miss out on the light show.

Did anyone try going to Guernica afterwards? Unfortunately they closed early. Come out next week for DJ Tek (and Roxxia, of course)! And then the following week, I'll try not to embarrass myself too much.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with most of you guys. I thought Armin was extremely disappointing tonight. Don't get me wrong... Armin is my #1 favorite trance DJ so I'm not trying to be biased. He never established a smooth flow with his set. It was just mainly track after track of classic anthems. When I got into the club at 12AM he was doing alright. Then he played PvD - Time of Our Lives which was awesome. BUT following it with YET ANOTHER DAY? What the heck was he thinking? From "oh this is the time of our lives" to "i don't like this place at all" what the hell was that? Evidently I wasn't the only one affected by this because I noticed that almost NOBODY was dancing to yet another day. Armin, I know you're MUCH more capable than what you've shown to your fans in NYC. Why do most DJs always feel the need to spin a harder set when they're in NYC?

Posted by Sunshine79 on Oct-02-2003 10:58:

Solar Factor - No Return!

(can't forget a Dinaire track! )

i had a great time....was tired as hell but enjoyed seeing everyone. i haven't slept yet and am about to go to work but what the hell? I'll probably do it again on Monday for PvD.

Anyone get a shirt?

nice to meet Mets4012

best armin set i've experienced live in a long time, much better than some of the holland gigs i went to earlier this year. but still, nothing out of this world. it's armin, he still plays way too much fluff for my taste. but whatever, it was alright.

highlights were Forever Waiting with Summer Calling acapella

Traffic of course, as usual. Binary Finary-1998 (was it Gouryella rmx?), Communication, Blue Fear and some other classic. the only encore i liked was the Mark Norman, can't remember if it was Stream or Overkill.

Arc felt like a gay club sometimes, the male:female ratio was just too unbalanced. I think Armin thought this too when he played Yet another day after TOOL j/k .

also, i hope those losers that started screaming stupid shit at the end like "bring back Gouryella" or "tell Tiesto to go fuck himself" or "tell Ferry this" were not TAs. wtf, armin's response to those guidos was masterful. he said something like "you tell ferry" x3. it was great.

well, off to bed now. gotta get up for class in a few hours

OMFGGGGGGG!!! yup mets, i died 10984092813 times last night!!!!!

first, i met up with djlord (jon), sot (chris) and his friend....we got to arc around 10'ish. i swear, there was literally about 50 peeps there...i was really nervous coz there wasn't enough people to support armin...:/ anyways, armin went on around 11'ish or even before that!!!! he went slow at first but omfgg!!!!!towards the middle of his set, he started to BRING IT DOWN!!!!!!! and indy started go nuts!!!!! ....dj tiesto-traffic, paul van dyk-time of our lives, solar stone-seven cities, binary finary, overkill...and many more...i wasn't really trying to keep a tracklist coz i had dani to tell the tunes!!!!!!

really nice to see familiar faces....brianna, alex, jaime(who came all the way from philly....that's what we call HARDCORE!!!) jon, chris, brian, shannon, tom dat, john...and of course my CRAZY PARTNER IN CRIME...DANIELLA!!!! i had an amazing time going nuts with you and screaming at armin hhahahhaha......nice meeting some new faces as well...adam aka wheels of steel, enervate aka william, mets...sorry hun i didn't get your name...:/ and i think i met some other people but you caught me when i was halfway asleep hahahah sorry!!!

ok...i got home around 4 and i'am at work right now...:/ it's going to be a long, ass day .....but overall, I DIDN'T REGRET ONE BIT OF MY EXPERIENCE LAST NIGHT!!!!!!! it is going on the record books as one of the best parties that i have attended!!!!! ARMIN, YOU PROVED ME WRONG!!!!! nuff said!!!

yaya

a considerable part of the set lacked
momentum unlike nu-nrg! few weeks ago

Oh man I feel like shittt right now. I got no sleep and now i am at work. How much fun can i take in one day. Well I thought Armin's set was pretty good and enjoyed meeting some TA's out there. The vibe in there was excellent i just thought the girl/guy ratio was horrible. But, to listen to excellent beats and dance all night i think i can handle it.

Posted by leitline on Oct-02-2003 13:50:

All in all it was a good set, but it was the most boring set I've heard him spin. From start to finish he played fast, hard, progressive trance. he also played a lot of his own stuff - which for a cd release party, I guess that's what you're supposed to do. anyway, what made it boring from my point of view is usually he throws in some tech, techtrance, progressive house, a break here and there. but this set - he just didn't do anything. mixing was nothing spectacular. he can do much better.

LASERS were OUTSTANDING! they gettin better and better at Arc. Just wish the ceiling was a little higher for maximum effectage.
