It starts of pretty good but then it just gets lame and cliche when they go to Manchester. A much better recent Zombie movie is Resident Evil

one of the better british films in a long time

it had me on the edge of my seat for a while - no films really scare me anymore, cos i've see so many horroe films. but it's quite a good thriller too, gets your heart pounding.

Feckin mint film, how do you work out that Resident Evil is better? :/

Posted by arctic on Oct-02-2003 14:28:

I never got around to seeing re myself..either way, this was class.

*looks behind for zombie*

Posted by sooper on Oct-02-2003 14:47:

so good!!

check out SESSION 9

its not about zombies - but its a similar style horror, in the sense that it uses anticipation & anxiety to scare the shit out of you, not loud noises and things jumping out at you..

See the trailer H E R E
even though its a couple years old.

Much prefer Romero's films, Dawn and Day of the Dead. 28 Days Later needs more gore and a less happy ending. The film started off very well, but slowly got worse.

As for the shithole that is Res Evil... Well if you like that you need to see some proper zombie films.

Posted by djSlain on Oct-02-2003 18:30:

it was pretty good. The zombies aren't very scary looking tho. It had pure horror elements without all the silly humour like Resident Evil. Isn't there an alternate ending?

The alternate ending was a dissappointment - after the credits "what if" comes on the screen. Then what happens is, the dude dies in the hospital, where in the regular ending she resucitates him. that's it.

i thought it was well funny. specialy the bit when that newly infected soldier chases the non infected solger. had to pause it cus i was laughing so much.

I thought it was pretty good, a pretty unique take on zombie movies...and I thought the zombies were FREAKY, cause they move so fast, and if they bite or scratch you even once you're dead shit.

And Resident Evil sucked ass.

I'm sorry but this movie seemed like it was 28 Days Long.

It did have its good moments, but the plot stunk. 5/10

This might be a minor spoiler to some, but during the time when the main character walks in the streets of the deserted city for the first time, the song that's playing is Godspeed You Black Emperor! - East Hastings. For some reason this song is in the musical score, but doesn't appear in the official soundtrack.

Same here, i'd LOVE a midi of any of it as well

The track that played as the main character gradually killed off all the soldiers was awesome, i'd love to remix that...

I thought it was a great film, although the last 3rd of the film based in the army barracks let it down a lot.
