axis 8 or cdj 100s ??! i got headache for weeks~
Hello everyone, i'm a newbie to this forum and also newbie to djing. very nice to meet u all!!!
And i got a serious problem now
, i wanna buy a set of DJ equipment for practice and learn. i saw 2 packages r pretty cool. one is 2 Numark Axis 8 + DMX01 , the other one is 2 CDJ 100s + DJM300. their price r almost the same. for pioneer is $799, Numark is $720. i know the cdj 100 is good and tough, but since its a couple yrs old model.... and the Axis 8 is pretty new and got more funtion/effects, but i haven't seen much reveiws for this one, so any suggestions PLEASE?!! and i also wanna know i should buy the package or seperate? THANKS!
Well unfortunately I don't know much about that equipment, but I can tell you that I think most people will tell you to go for the Pioneer stuff, I'm sure I've heard some bad reviews about Numarks Axis players, and there DXM mixers not soundin to good, but I personally don't know, and allot of clubs I've been in and heard of have the CDJ100s, I've heard good things but can't be specific, if it was me gettin one of them, I'd go Pioneer, yea the Numark stuff looks cool, but thats not what DJin is about, so I would go for the Pioneer setup, but like I said, I've never used any of this equipment, so I think I should just shut up.
alright, the pioneer cdj 100s are nice cd decks, they dont have alot of extra features like looping or the ability to save cue points ,etc but they do have master tempo, and are quick to cue up and are more common than Axis 8s. the 8s have more features, i dont know if you can store loops or not but non the less, they have more features, i dont know about the mixers, the djm 300 is not bad though, kinda plain but not bad. personally, i would go for the numark stuff. i just looked at the numark mixer online, and it looked fine. i've never used it but it has eqs and looks fine. i have a set of numark cd players and mixer, it works. really the way i see it you cant really go wrong. they are both pretty standard packages, if you really get into djing you will out grow both of them. the numarks give you looping to play with, and they are abit cheaper, my vote, go numark and buy some more cds.
i'm sure some people might disagree but either way your good to go
Definitely go with the Pioneer package. Numark makes cheaper stuff, lesser quality. Pioneer is pretty much the standard in cdj equipment. I have had Pioneer dual cd decks, and now I have Pioneer cdj1000. All of which were amazing machines.
I did a comprehensive review of both of those items and a couple more, several months ago. Try searching! I reviewed the axis 8, 9, cdj 100 and 800.
I'd say,go with the CDJ's. They have an excellent reputation, they're everything you need for 300$...
