motorcycle - as the rush comes (armin remix)

Great night, nice meeting the TA's. When he dropped Time of Our Lives I went nuts. I got to Necto around 9:15 and the place was empty. It did get more crowded later on, but it still wasn't the same capacity as Paul Van Dyk. Either way it was a great show.

OMG. What a fantastic show. That's all I can say.... really.

When he dropped "Time of Our Lives" I was in pure heaven.

It was good to meet some new TA's, and I apologize if I butcher the spelling here, its early, and I can barely see the keyboard -> (Trance(PL), laserjock, sagehan, G-Man Detroit, and BrokenPartyKid) I think I'm missing one or two, *shrug*

It was also good to see some familiar faces (arecebo, RavenStar, Binary_Eclipse, biznology, etc.)

Dubblies, I saw ya rockin' it up in the VIP. I'm jealous.

Fcuk I'm tired, and i only have 8 hour of work left... Boo.

I'll try to post the pics that DRC and I took sometime this weekend.... Prolly not tonight, but sometime.

I think thats all I had to say, if anything else strikes me, I'll be sure to post it.

hey cebo, aren't you forgetting Perpetuous Dreamer - Future Funland? lol, I don't even know the track I just remember you saying it. I wondered what the Summer Calling track was....I was like this sounds like Summer Calling...but, its not.

All I have to say is I was about ready to give up on trance after not hearing a good set in such a long time! Armin was about 5x better than when I saw him in Chicago in May!! I had sooo much fun! Dancing on the bass bins....I NEVER do that! (until I got kicked off that is. we're goin to hafta do somethin about those new bouncers.) And I was completely sober the whole night! Time of Our Lives is an amazing tune! But Armin did play a lot of tracks I didn't know. But I've been listening to almost nothing but progressive and techno for the last 5 months or so.

Nice meeting some more TA's! What a great night!!!

Posted by RavenStar on Oct-03-2003 14:41:

Hey, I just realized some TA's weren't there, or at least I didn't meet them if they were. Tranceaki....can't believe you did make it out to this!! Also, did anyone meet Kailya?

You missed one hell of a show!!

Posted by lcid on Oct-03-2003 15:53:

shit, he played *so* many amazing tunes. i should have driven over for this, bah!

Posted by BinarY_EclipsE on Oct-03-2003 16:34:

HOLY F@#$

Thats all I have to say....I died and died and died again....

All my friends said he didnt play this but I'm sure he did....

Monalisa Overdrive- born to synthesize(Solar Stone Dub).....that was amazing...
Perpetuous Dremer- Future Funland (2003 mix)

Nice hanging out with ya Bod, Me and Arecebo were lost in the music all night long......wow....

now i go back to sleep

David Gahan- Dirty Sticky Dub
BT- Somnambulist
a few others i cant seem to remember them tho.....all i know is I knew the night was gonna be incredible when i went up and asked KT to play Cafe Del Mar, but KT told me that Armin told him to keep it down tonight.....my and NorthStar looked at eacother and were like oh man...Its On......and it was

Posted by Kailya on Oct-03-2003 17:05:

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't make it... Armin knew... My check engine light came on little less than halfway into the trip.... I don't play that... So I turned around and headed home... Just got back from having my car towed to the shop....

Sounds like everyone had a great time as I planned!!! Hopefully it's nothing serious with my car.... Maybe it just needs blinker fluid... lol....

I'll be in DC 11/15.... Dinner before the show looks good....

I'm glad you all made it... Sorry I didn't get to meet you!

KT also played a remix of "Clocks" by Coldplay. Not sure which mix, tho....

It sounded like a Gabriel and Dresden remix

Very nice set. Definately one for the trance addicts out there. Was a little "here and there" at times with the tracks but finnished great. Had the most incredible vibe when he threw down "Time of Our Lives", I love that song. So overall I was impressed. 1st time seeing him by the way. Props to my room mate that was out in the car upchuckin' for the last 2 hours or so, way to be a trooper

By the way, if anybody happens to know if tonights set was recorded, please let me know. I would be happy to host it on a dedicated 6mb pipe out to the internet, free of course

Wow what a night...

It was an amazing night, for some reason the first half felt more like a concert, in that i was chilling most of the time, but then it picked up and i started raving out.
For me, KT did a great job at the end of his set by playing Solar Stone vs Sirocco - Destination
PVD - Connected (moto mix)
and earlier when he played BT - Somanbulist (sander remix)
As for Armin he was awsome...
I know he played
Mind one - Only memories
Roland Klinkenberg - Monday Groove (one of the tracks that he held for days and let it build up forever)
Nathan Fake - Outhouse (a real eerie dark tune, sweet though)
Massive Lust - Never (original mix)

I wanto to say he playted these but i am unsure...
JS Ten - Eternal (Euphonic Mix)
Masters & Nickson feat Justine Suissa - 5th Dimension (C-Quence Remix)
Matt Hardwick presents Smith & Pledger - Day One (Above & Beyond Remix) (Im pretty sure he played this but not positive)
Euphonic - Asia

And finally he probably did not play Delerium feat Nerina Pallot - Truly (Signum Remix) but he may have.
Whatever the case, the night was sick, best show ive seen in Ann Arbor by far. I had a blast.

Just wanted to check in and say that I had a FUCKING AMAZING time last night! It was great to meet some of you guys--ravenstar, DJ_Bod, DetroitRockCity, biznology, saghen, Trance(PL)--in real life so that I can now assign faces to the names I see on the forums. Unfortunately I didn't make it out to the patio at 10:30 because a) I'm a mong and left my watch at home and b) I still don't know my way around Necto so I would never have found the patio. Ah well, I'll probably meet a lot more of y'all at upcoming events. For example, anyone want to hook me up with a ride up to Toronto for Armin/PvD/Deep Dish on Columbus Day weekend?

Posted by arecebo on Oct-04-2003 01:12:

add to tracklist:

Dirt Devils - Music is life (jono grant & pos remix)

Ok. I had a great time on Thursday. It was nice to finally meet some TAs in person, although I've seen several of you at other shows not realizing you were TAs. Only caught a little bit of Kenny's set, would have liked to have heard more of it, but was at the meet and greet.

I dunno, it took me about 15 minutes of Armin's set to get me into the mood, but after that, I was full on for the rest of the night. Last time I saw Armin was at Labour of Love 2002. It seems to be that Armin is playing harder than he used to play. For those that have seen him recently, has this been a progression for awhile or is it recent?

Overall, it was a great night, although it took a couple days to recover.

add
firewall - sincere (pulser remix) <--- this song destroyed the dance floor, the break in this track is amazing

full review...

Never really got around to writing a review so here goes. My first time seeing Armin and he was definately on this night! His tracklist was not quite what I had expected, there were a few songs I wish i could have heard because I know only armin would be playing them. There were a few rough mixes, but plenty phenominal ones. He dropped some MAJOR TUNAGE with songs like cern-the message, firewall-sincere(pulser remix), and basic dawn-pure thrust(nu nrg remix) - these songs just destroyed the dance floor.. then he sealed the deal by dropping half of the greatest trance tracks of all time: seven cities, communication, airwave(breathing), binary finary... and even some decade old tunage.. jens-loops n tings(new marco v remix)

It was great hearing some songs that I thought I would never ever hear in a club, but it wasnt what I was looking for from Armin. However, the set was so amazing that by the end it didnt even matter what tracks he laid down. Necto's bass is also a little fucked up (it was too high and didnt make a clean sound), hopefully they'll be fixing this soon. I was lookin for a set with a little more flow and an epic ending (would have been, his first song in his encore was boomerang, obviously to set up for one last epic track, but bryan had to cut him off)... but of course there is always next weekend at the GUV!!
