plese help me with soundcard problem!!!
My understanding is that if you get a good soundcard you will get better sounding CDr when you burning them from progs like Traktor, CE, REASON, ETC...an i right? and i got soundblaster live x-gamer 5.1...does any one know how to install these things???? i tought it would be easy but i cant get it to work!
ill try
I think your right about the better soundcard better quality, but I think thats if your using stuff outside your computer like synths because it reduces latency.
As for your soundcard a number of things could of happened. First make sure that you uninstalled your old soundcard's drivers before you put in your new one. The old drivers could cause some conflicts.
Explain your situation a little more I'll try and help best I can
ok...i wanna make a mix CD that i can give to a club...I want it to be a clear as can be. Yesterday i made a mix using traktor and burnt it on a cd and played it my car and it sounded like shit...there was a little humming and a little destortion...so today i went out and bought a new soundcard. i cant get it installed properly but would this solve my problem any ways??? i was gonna try hooking up my generic soundcard to my home cd burner, woud that help?? I DUNNO!! WHAT IS THE EASYIEST/BEST WAY TO GET CLEAR DIGITAL SOUND FROM MY COMPUTER ONTO A CDR??!?!
I think that the better soundcard should help.
Now what exactly is going wrong try to describe it as best you can.
after i install it and it restarts...windows 98 doesnt load properly...it goes into safe mode and nothing works, so i had to uninstall it
Did you uninstall the drivers for your old soundcard first??
Crap, I got a sound problem too, but mine don't seem as yours, Phanta C, I'll wait 'till yours is resolved before I ask ma question!
Boy Trance ask away yours might be eaiser to solve than Phanta's
Try moving the sound card to a different pci slot, sb sound cards have probs with certain pci slots, especially pci slot 2 (next to agp)

Alright, I have a Soundblaster Live soundcard, and two desktop speakers. So I have the Soundblaster settings set for two speakers, but when I set the balance (L/R) to the center, the sound is very distant and echoes! But when I put the balance all the way to the right or left, it sounds full, and normal, BUT, when certain tunes have sounds that travel from one speaker to the other, the sound is lost when it moves to the opposite side that I have set on the balance, you know? Is this a speaker problem, soundcard problem or what?
Try and have a fiddle with ur sb live mixer settings

Okay, uh just a correction about my problem, if anybody can help me out, is that when I put the balance to the left the sound fades completely! All the way left = no sound! So like I mentioned before, I lack certain elements that 'stereo' music has to offer! If somebody can be of assistance, it'd be greatly appreciated!
